it's a shame that 'Please be excited' dude got a spotlight to announce a game that is a simple port from PC and getting it showed at a big screen with an 'upscaled' ps1 graphic.

SCE should rather invite P5 representative to come at the stage and show a brand new trailer.

It's getting ported because PSOne Classics aren't on PS4. Square RPGs are some of the PSOne's biggest titles, so they almost certainly had input on that decision, or at least talked to Sony early on about this. It's possible Sony knew about this before the PS4 was ever released, or at least knew it was a possibility.
