Forums - Politics Discussion - Can everyone agree that White American police officers are above the law? - No indictment in Garner case......

Funny thing is it would probably help, but I would not be for that. Even better more female officers.

Scary stuff, but at least people are getting rightfully upset about it.

Here in Australia indigenous people are killed in police custody all the time, and almost nobody knows or cares.

it is astonishing that that is the conclusion you came to. There is literally zero evidence that either this case nor mike brown's had anything to do with race. But unlike mike brown, which had no evidence to prove the officers guilt, this case definitely appeared that the officer acted outside the law.
Based on my limited viewing of the evidence, it is quite disappointing that this NY cop was not indicted. He certainly seemed guilty.

but again, how you came to the conclusion that white cops can just kill blacks all willy nilly is abhorrent.
FYI the last cop to be indicted in the death of a civilian, was a white cop (richard haste) killing a black man(ramarly graham).

Yep! Like others I can't say it applies only to white officers but clearly the system designed to protect the police even when they've acted recklessly. Luckily people are taking a stand and I think we'll see them becoming held to account sooner rather then later

Sadly, lately it has been white people.

because there are more white people

I'm not sure if its murder but it sure looked like Man Slaughter, especially since choke holds are a big no-no.

They got my order wrong at Mcdonald's. Therefore all Mcdonald's employess will get my order wrong.

They spit in my burger on purpose at Mcdonalds. Therefore all Mcdonalds employees will spit in my burger.

Prime example of the logic on this thread.

I think it's cops in general, not just white cops. As a young black male living in the US I don't trust any cops at all. I was almost shot by a black cop once because he said I looked suspicious and I was in the back seat of the car when it was pulled over. I wasn't even operating the vehicle yet he came over to question me while pointing his gun in my face.

What about the black cop that shot and killed that Taylor kid?

Could you perhaps be more vague?

Minorities get away with everything.

You're right! Presently, there are no minorities in prisons.

It happened around the same time as that Brown kid got shot. Some black cop shot and killed a kid who had his headphones on and apparently didnt hear the cop yell for him to stop so the cop shot him but the news wouldn't say anything about it because he was black and they are allowed to do that because of "equal rights" (aka whining until they get special treatment).
