Forums - Sales Discussion - WiiU Vs. XB1: Do you still think WiiU will win, if so why?

WiiU V.s XB1

WiiU will win 421 49.36%

XB1 will win 432 50.64%

Total:853

I don't see what possible strengths the LunchBox One has at this point. Microsoft has already spammed Halo, its strongest franchise, all over the place with as many high-profile releases as they could back the R&D for. I don't see a single iota of progress since March of this year with the sales of that system. There is nothing on Earth that possibly save the Xbone. Even Americans aren't falling for the McDonald's tier Call of Duty bundles anymore.

The Wii U, on the other hand, has Nintendo's full range of IP support. Need proof that it actually matters? Mario Kart 8's tremendous success earlier this year was only the beginning, now Smash Bros. 3D is selling out across my entire city. If the 3DS (the most popular gaming handheld on the market now) version could sell 2.9 million alone, the promises of the HD buff and the Skylander-like Amiibo gimmick will launch the Wii U's sales tenfold its initial rut.

I'm sorry but the Xbox One has lost, no matter how many stubborn Xbox fanboys remain on the internet voting in this poll.

Wii U will win... in my heart.

I know... my English sucks.

If Nintendo scraps the gamepad and launches a slim version at $149 with Mario kart and mario 3d world pack-ins, I think they will get 2nd place. This should be quite doable considering the cheapness of the hardware. So my bet is on Nintendo at this point.

Also, I expect xbone to crash hard next year.

In the next 12 months, the PS4 has Bloodborne, The Order: 1886, and Uncharted 4. Not that that has ANYTHING to do with this discussion, but it needed addressing.

OT: I think the WiiU's lead will cease by no later than Spring 2015. I feel for the little machine that could, because it has some very obvious quality software, but the early decisions have put it in a strict position, one that won't be corrected enough to correct the trajectory.

The user was saying between halo and halo, uncharted will come out around the same time. Blood and order aren't major things imo (QB and fable aren't either).

In your opinion. Doesn't mean they aren't substantial releases. Still, it remains off-topic and irrelevant.

I know is my opinion, I put imo for some reason. You don't need to reinforce my imo.

And to end the off topic, I agree that they are substantial, just not major. Stuff like QB, fable, forza are in that group. Major, for me, is stuff like halo, gears, uncharted, gt.

I never thought Wii U would win second anyways, but I was confused as to why people believed it would.

Microsoft may sell more consoles but Nintendo will make more profit overall. That's my prediction mainly due to the Wii U now being sold for (most likely) a profit or close to it and Microsoft's history of not caring how much money they lose on selling products at lower costs as long as they can brag to their investors that they moved a lot of devices.

That being said, I legitimately do believe by the end of this console cycle that the Wii U will have sold more than the One LTD (unless the Wii U has a 5 year cycle and the one has a 7 year cycle).

What do you think will happen to cause the Wii U to sell more over the lifespan -  it has not done so since the XB1 has been released except the short time after MK8 was launched and the xb1 was going through its slowest month

So you think Nintendo will do that?  What makes you think that?  When wil it happen (aprox)?

nip-and-tuck race (pool) ^,^

Nintendo would have to do something along the lines of reworking their OS so that a pro controller can handle everything the gamepad could do if they plan on ditching the gamepad. Otherwise some of their games will not work. Deus Ex comes to mind. That and they would have to find a way to make their online function like XBL. But even this is complicated, otherwise Sony would have done this long ago. No, I think Nintendo has figured out their route this generation, which is a army of fantastic first party games every month all year long. The sales will keep going from there, if they can start working on Bayonetta 3 now.

They are closer than ever in terms of price and it's only the real first XB1's christmas so WiiU can't stand a chance at all.

As if many people were hesitating between WiiU and XB1.

The two just have a completely different audience.
