Forums - Gaming Discussion - Ubisoft is just being lazy with the PC version of AC Unity

All the PR the last week seems to indicate that they're trying to hide the facts that their engine is not well developed.

You gotta love gamers...

"I want all my games running in native 1080p @ 60fps AT MINIMUM, and even higher resolution for PC... anything less is unacceptable!"

"What??? Whadaya mean I need a decent PC rig to run this shit at the minimum specs I demanded?!?"

Theres decent PC and then theres i5 2500k + 680 as a Minimum requirement sorta PC... If your PC has an i5 2500k + 680, your PC isn't a decent PC... Its a High End PC but according to Ubisoft, thats the minimum requirement...

And of course, the recommended is an i7 + gtx 780 which are considered very high end to enthusiast level PC...

When PC gamers say, we want all our games running at 1080p 60fps at minimum, we didn't mean it would require a $3000+ PC to run it on max settings even though the game doesn't even look that good to justify the requirement... Something like Starcitizen can easily jusitify its requirement however

And honestly, if thats the requirement, most high end PCs wont even be able to run it at 1080p 60fps even on minimum

It's not like Ubisoft games have been super demanding the past decade, they just seem to bloat the specs along with poor optimization and expect PC users to take it when we can see other games doing amazing in the requirements and graphics dept, I agree with a game like SC and it's requirements but I don't think I'll ever agree with Ubi's, they just haven't shown compitence for a long time when it comes to their programming and treating all the bases the same, they will alliantate the WIi U shortly and as always they fuck it up for PC while keeping it a bit fair with just the XB and Sony platforms, it really doesn't do them any favours when they limit themselves so much and yet think of new ways to pin the blame on someone other than their poor excuse for optimation, programming and PR skills.

I imagine in at least 2-3 more years time Ubi will fully become the enw EA with EA themselves slowly trying to give a damn and improve their end but will still probably lose because of how long they fucked up for which could be Ubisoft next if they don't buckle up, the PC sector is quite huge and if they feel alianting and screwing the market over they'll see less return and have their rep torn completely with no hope of return.

Don't get me wrong though, I love some of the creed games and loved FC3 and the long dead PP series but these days they just don't seem to bother lifting a finger for the PC space.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

Now the "underpowered" consoles start to seem pretty good don't they?

Not really. 900p/30fps isn't particularly impressive either, especially when most games play considerably better on PC, even on older hardware. (Shadow of Mordor, for example, plays 1080p/60fps easily on most mid range builds, while the consoles can't even reach 60fps. In an action game like that, fps is very important and the bump is awesome)

I have both a PS4 and a PC, and I go PC when possible.

Correct, Ubisoft is indeed being lazy with the port. That's the reason I wouldn't support them this time if I was supporting them otherwise. Thankfully this doesn't change anything because I don't support them anymore due to uPlay.

This has always been the case. AC3 and FC3 are prime examples.
They just suck or don't care about PC.

most devs are lazy with pc port. They assume people can improve their hardware if the game is not running well.

Ubi is the king of lazy ports though....

Far Cry 3 was probably the only thing they got right on PC for a long time.

You serious? That thing had jitter problems even at straight 60fps.

This is my modern PC spec. :{

Intel Core i3 4130 3.40GHZ
6GB RAM
Geforce GTX 745 4GB DDR3

Core i5 2500k is not even on the same planet as the CPUs in the consoles....And the GTX 680/7970 minimum? I wouldn't be surprised if the disc version arrives with 'PS4' stamped on the front. That's how unoptimised this crap is.
