So much for that 90K baseline for XBone after tier 2 launch. Wonder how things will go after the launch of PS4 in China.

Pretty much confirms what we told, the baseline will go back to 50-60k after the holidays

no

the baseline for 2015 will be 75 - 100k

that will depend on what ms is going to offer (skus, bundles and price)

but the xbox one will not go down to 50k again after this holiday.

next two weeks will be low. maybe hit 65k

Probably true actually. Xbox One has some good stuff coming out in 2015. I think the flaw in hitting the tier 2 countries late was that Sony had already had almost a whole year to penetrate those countries. Europe also has been bias towards Sony for many years. I don't see the xbox one dropping to a Wii U baseline of mid-40s again aside from a barren week here and there though. Not too sure about a minimum 75,000 baseline in 2015 though...

Don't consoles generally go up 50% or so in their second year? So X1 baseline should be more like 80-90k next year, maybe the odd week below that in January and the summer. Still not great, and way below the 360. It will be interesting to compare the two going forward, I don't think X1 will be ahead of 360 much longer

generally, yes. but not necessary 50%

and i dont see, why the xbox one should not

it still has the best third party support, big exclusive games coming and future pricecuts to happen

And X1 below 100k just like I said it would. I remember someone telling me it'd be a long time before that happened, yet here we are (wish I could remember who).

I expect the X1 to jump around, probably climb up through the holidays before it absolutely crashes in January. After that crash, it won't recover until either a price cut or Halo 5. It'll have a sub 60k baseline for most of 2015.

And most people didnt believe when i said 40M was the best scenario for X1

I think your both being to kind in your predictions. There is nothing exclusive coming to the x1 next year untill the hollidays. The other consoles will destroy it. When bloodborne and the order come out, we wot even be hearing whispers of the x1, aside from the usual "wait for halo5".

It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.

There will really be no point talking about baselines until after Christmas. This time of year sales will/should increase week on week and change heavily with new games

Either way, after the last few weeks of the Xbox One releasing in multiple countries, the PS4 in back to total domination.

Are their any other factors that could allow the Xbox One to overtake the PS4 for one week of the year?

Could the Master Chief Collection or Sunset Overdrive do it for exclusives? Or will Call of Duty bundles manage to push the Xbox One ahead?

The Xbox one has A LOT of bundles + the HMCC releasing in late October, early november. By themselves, none of them are beasting - but looking at the Amazon preorder rankings for HMCC, the CoD bundle, the SO bundle and the AC Unity bundle, it doesnt look impossible that the XBox One could win a few weeks - in the US if nothing else.

Amazon hourly, the standalone XBO is #30, SO bundle #54, CoD bundle #61, AC bundles #160 and #310.

PS4 #9, Destiny bundle #24.

The XBO hasnt done this good on US Amazon in some time, so should get a nice bump last week October and first few weeks November.

I don't even know why the X1's exclusives are consolidated to such a short time period next year. January to end of August is just as important and to have a drought as long as that is detrimental.

It depends, if there is no price cut before summer, it will go down to 50-60k, the definitive baseline could increase with a real price cut .

But the re will be more third party games in 2015 so it wont go down too often fortunately

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m
