They will go third party for next Nintendo handheld ;)

As much as I love my Vita, as others have pointed out, the shift to mobiles with streaming capabilities pretty much mean it's over.

They make phones so probably not. In another generation phones will be so much more powerful that it wont really be viable.

A more interesting question is how long will it take for moble phones to be replaced by some future tech.

It sucks but I can't blame them. They're bleeding money. Sega flat out dropped the DC due to the same issue. Companies can't just keep losing money like that without consequences.

Although the Vita is the best handheld I'ver ever had, another handheld gaming system is just not viable for them. They will probably focus on getting psnow and remote play onto phones and tablets.

I think the only hope for a new handheld would be an Xperia phone varient. Now that they fully own their mobile dvision it is possible, but first they have to reach some level of success with the Xperia line. The Z3 being on T-Mobile and Verizon in the US is a good step, but they need to get on AT&T and at minimum get the rest of the Z series phones on each carrier (Z Compact and Z Ultra).

If they can get he above accoplished, and achieve moderate success, they may be able to put out the Xperia Playstation with carrier support. That is about the only way a new handheld would be possible, andything else would be sent to die, just like the uncellular capable Vita.

i sincerely hope they do. I really really like the vita.

As an early adopter of PSP and PSV, in case of a new Sony handheld actually happening. I´ll take my very sweet time before I would bite again, at the very least some years after launch or maybe even completely ignore it. PSV really is a huge disappointment and letdown even for my lowered expectations they managed to considerably underperform when it comes to software support and the little amount of compelling games often don´t get retail releases outside of Asia. I don´t think I´ve felt such an amount of buyers remorse for a system before.

Hopefully not. I'm tired of raging Vita fanboys on the PS Blog bitching about everything.
