I'm sure we'll get some "mods trying to silence us!" with the focus on PMs (but hey, that goes against rule 2 since it's unfounded! Yay! :P), but to be honest... if you want the most clear picture of why a user/you was moderated... you ask the moderator who banned them/you. The rest of us could have been part of the conversation on ModChat, but sometimes we don't know the full situation or context of the ban. Don't get me wrong, you can ask here, and we'll do our best to make sure we can use the rules/guidelines to explain said ban, but it's the most clear when it comes from the horses mouth.

And as for PMs, it's just the fastest way of getting an answer. We log in, we see the PM indicator, we look, we read, we (hopefully) answer. We'll do our best to check this thread though.

Now I recognize that as an internet moderator, life is tough...lack of social life, people skills, job, and pretty much a total fuckup in every regard, but if you can't notice the sheer hypocrisy of this procession of thought, you probably shouldn't be allowed on the internet...or outside for that matter where the non-retards play.

So, what's the deal Carl? Goatseye brings up, by my count, 3 additional games that have nothing at all to do with the topic, then Celador counters with other games and yet Celador is banned? Uh, what?

I'm not celador you halfwit. I'm not even making it difficult for you to determine who I am. Think a little.

The first thing you need to do is look at Celador's original reply to Goatseye's comment. It is here where Celador tries to drag the thread into a war regarding Xbox One games. This is where the thread is originally dragged off topic.

Goatseye simply responds with other Sony 1st party titles, that is an extension upon daredevi.shark's original comment about Sony's mismanagement of the 1st party output. This is not dragging the thread off topic, but expanding on a comment that is very on topic as it was about some of Sony's 1st party offerings reviewing poorly despite looking phenomenal. Driveclub, Killzone, inFamous, Knack. All games that were hyped up pre-launch as pretty big things (less so for Knack) but falling flat critically.

I did see Goatseye's post as on the borderline, not because of anything off topic, but because of how he simply said some games were nothing but style over substance. I could see where he was coming from with the context of his post in reply to dd.shark, and let it be.

Finally, the post which got Celador banned. When Goatseye ignored the first jab taken at Xbox One games, Celador came right back out of the corner swinging. The problem is that Celador is purposely trying to shift focus of the thread from a Sony game to Xbox games. Celador is trying to get Goatseye pissed off by bringing up Dead Rising and Ryse. It is baiting. It is deflection. It is against the rules.

Furthermore, the post highlighted that this was also a dig at Microsoft.

Goatseye never brought up Microsoft games. Goatseye was content with discussing Sony's recent output for PS4 and expanding upon daredevil.shark's original post about the mismanagement of the 1st party.

Goatseye bringing up 3 other Sony games really isnt dragging the thread off topic, however, Celador had 3 posts in the thread all of which were either jabs at Microsoft or deflections trying to get a rise out of Goatseye (or other MS-leaning members).  Celador successfully managed to drag the thread off topic and make a discussion about Sony/ Driveclub actually a discussion about Xbox One games. This is why Celador was banned and Goatseye wasn't.
