I agree with LBP, Dark souls (though demon would have been better) and Portal.

For me it would be:

4. Uncharted 2

7. Metro: Last Light
8. Warhawk
9. LittleBigPlanet
10. Uncharted

how does Dark Souls 2 compare to the first? It doesn't particularly look like my thing but I think I'mma give one of the games a shot.

No Minecraft?

I would put Journey, Bioshock and Elderscrolls Oblivion on that list. Probably Halo 3 just for the local multiplayer.

To me it seems more like a "most defining games of last gen" rather than the best games of last gen.  I mean what's the reason to put LBP instead of the much better LBP2?  Street Fighter 4 instead of Ultra Street Fighter 4? 

Plus it's all these super popular games that people probably won't argue over.  It's gaming journalism.  Where they try and base their opinions off what they think the audience expects to see or wants to see.  It's why too often do we see good games and bad games get scores that they don't deserve.  Lords of Shadow 2 and Final Fantasy 13 as examples on both sides. 

No Mass Effect, No Xenoblade, No Uncharted 2, No Monster Hunter = No Win.

Most will argue it's not the best entry in the series. However, that doesn't mean it is a bad game by any means. Quite the contrary really.
