Hyped game of the year?
From my recent memory Watch Dogs and Titanfall were more hyped than Destiny lol way more.
Destiny had a bigger marketing budget
User base was smaller back in march when titanfall launched

Debatable.
Destiny on X1 also had a bigger opening than Titanfall with no X1 marketing.
Perhaps that says a lot about how hyped Destiny was.

You know this is "sales" website right? Based on... numbers? right?
So yah sellings 2x more games on a console that has 2 times the userbase (actually more compared to back in time) + a HUGE marketing budget is kind of a a good excuse to me. All in one, this is everything but an achievement when you compare this at the equal level.
Please, keep loving it and sorry if it does not fit your agenda perfectly :)

Maybe on the planet you are living on (the "way more"). But on Earth it is definitly debatable. I saw way more Destiny marketing material (and way before) than Watch Dog/Titanfall.
Look all of what basically everyone is saying is irrelevant why is Destiny PS4 being compared to TF XB1 in the first place? It's like the OP made a thread just to stir up some mess ESPECIALLY by adding he was "happy" about it at the end lol. Not saying he can't be happy about it but the thread just seems personal and made to stir up stuff IMO.
Would have been better to compare TF XB1 to Destiny XB1....that makes A LOT more sense.....

The massive opening Destiny had shows it was more hyped. Bungie even mislead us about the product to boost hype.
