Lol oh really now. TLoU didn't boost PS3 significantly enough for there to be any meaningful difference. PS3 has a userbase of almost 6m in the UK and TLoU boosted ps3 by maybe 200k at most in total (and that's being optimistic, since the game sold between 400-500k). Not significant.

this is july.

what now?

btw. if we still spinning right now

ps3 got his reatil release of minecraft in 2014

we should cut it out form h1 2014 numbers, because the x360 one was back in 2013

TLoU had great legs.

The 3:2 ratio is really what should be expected for software sales since that's their hardware sales ratio. Last year PS3 was selling more software compared to its install base.

ytd ps3 software end of july 2013 for uk:

3500k

tlofu sales for first two month according to vgchartz : 300k

= 3200k without tlofu

ytd ps3 sales end of july 2014:

2284k --> 29% drop

so even with the best possible way to spin the figures in ps3 favour, its still a 1% bigger sales decline than xb360

im curious what we will do end of 2014

there is just one fact: ps3 software in uk is dying faster than x360 software.

Eh, Killzone and inFamous are both 2-3m sellers. The Last of Us is essentially a 10m seller so I'm surprised you mention Uncharted but not TLoU. Mainline GoW games sell 4m+ each. KZ and infamous are definitely less significant than those.

I think UC4 has a gpod chance of outselling Halo 5.

I'm kinda skeptical, but I do think that there is a small chance of that happening!

I remember last gen a lot of people said they chose the 360, because most multi platform games performed better on it.

I suppose people are doing that again now.

In the UK? Nonsense. If that was the case the original Xbox would've been top dog here and it was one of the only markets outside of Japan where it did worse than the Gamecube. Sounds more like Plan C damage control.

The UK market are very pricepoint-fickle. The fact that it took > 5 years for SCEUK to drop the PS3 below the £200 sweet spot (and even then I think that might have only been the 12GB model) is horrendously laughable.

I'm pretty sure the Xbox performed far better than the Gamecube in the UK once they saw sense and dropped the price. On the continent the GC generally fared better though. This is backed up by software releases on both formats (there were games in the US that received a release on PS2/XB/GCN but when it came to the UK, it was just PS2/XB).

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

Lmao. You're jumping to conclusions based on 1%. So 360 owners are 1% happier with their purchase? LOL!

that 1% is including the rediclous tlofu spin

without its still 7%

just wait for the end of 2014 to see 7-12 in % difference

or 5-7% with tlofu number spin

Well NSMB is a huge franchise (or was, at least). The Wii game sold 30m+ iirc.

But of course, XB1's lineup isn't good really, but it's not the point of the discussion anyway.

No MS or Sony game can compare to the true Mario games.

Can you elaborate on that a bit? All 3 have games which have pushed gaming in entirely new directions so I'm just wondering what aspect of it you mean :)

If you mean they can't make a platformer that compares, I agree entirely, though UbiSoft came very close with Rayman 2.

The latter mainly, each generation Nintendo are able to make a Mario game, which change to the not only the developments of the system but gameplay. They didn't just keep Mario in 2D and stagnate or struggle to adapt (see Sonic). There is a reason why after 25 years, a Mario game is always in the best of a generation.

Never played Rayman 2, I'll add it to my PS1 collection.

Hmm, pie.

The Dreamcast version was the best. Followed by the PS2 version (which was enhanced, but had frame rate issues) then PC. I think the N64 version was better than the PS1 version. That said, the game itself is still great. That said, if you're a Nintendo fan, Rayman 3D is a 3DS port of Rayman 2. :)

Has any console reached 10M in UK ever?

Yes, the PS2 managed to reach 10 million from what I've searched!
