I just checked, and Bayonetta on Xbox 360 was 6.8GB, how the hell do a few extra costumes kick that up to 18GB!?

Nintendo sucks at optimising?

Guess that's why Mario 3D World is only 1.7GB and Mario Kart 8 would fit on a single layered Wii disc? :p

Nintendo's compression is excellent, there must be something else going on here for the file size to triple. Uncompressed audio and cutscenes maybe?

Oh damn, I just remembered it's being developed by Platinum and not Nintendo.

Even so, there has to be a technical reason for the file size tripling.

only possible explanation is that the Xbox360 version was heavily compressed to fit on a single layered dvd (6.8GB max on Xbox360).

I think Lost Odyssey came on 4 discs which lowers the overall profits.

So Bayo1 Wii U is most likely uncompressed to have better audio/cut-scenes/textures.

Its the audio and higher res textures of the ported-up Bayo 1. The audio alone, being lossless, is going to be a fuck-ton of space.

They were compressed on the X360 gamediscs.

Yeah, it's probably uncompressed audio and possibly cutscenes, that's about the only thing that seems likely to almost triple the filesize. Maybe to save cpu resources but doesn't the Wii U have an audio dsp anyway or are those not that effective?

Check out my site: http://www.agamingwebsite.blogspot.com/

2 tb external hard drive, so no problem here.

The Wii U has an audio DSP to free up the CPU from having to process sound, yes.

I have a 1TB hard-drive for my Wii U, and I'll be getting the retail version of Bayonetta anyway. :p

Upcoming Games To Get

Definite: Kirby Star Allies (Switch), Mario Tennis Aces (Switch), Fire Emblem (Switch), Yoshi (Switch), Pokemon (Switch), Kingdom Hearts 3 (PS4), Monster Hunter World (PS4)

Considering: Fe (Switch), Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze (Switch), The World Ends With You (Switch), Ys VIII (Switch), Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition (PS4), Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Remix (PS4), The Last Guardian (PS4), Shadow of the Colossus HD (PS4), Anthem (PS4), Shenmue 3 (PS4), WiLD (PS4)

Eh, guess i'm getting it physically then.

Didn't think about that uncompressed might (or does) give better quality and pretty much had to compress it to fit on a dl-dvd.

I have a 120 and 60GB HDDs from old computer that got connectors for to turn into external ones. I'll just get it on disc though. Pretty much have only gotten some of the smaller filesize games digital like Zelda WW HD, Mario Kart 8 and Ninja Gaiden 3.
