Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Xbox One vs PS4: How Microsoft's Console is Getting Better and Better Than Sony's

Half of the updates they're doing are already things that the PS4 currently does. I hope they can give those of you who play Xbox what you want. Afterall, all gaming companies should cater to what their customers think. Hell, all non-gaming companies as well for that matter.

Sony definitely has some catching up to do when it comes to firmware updates. But I would like to note that the PS4 was a more complete console at launch. Some of Microsofts updates have been pathetic oversights like being notified that your battery is low, or allowing you to see how much memory you have left on your HDD.

You do know that all of the updates are apart of Microsoft's strength right? Thats their bread and butter. OS and online/multimedia. Sony will always be playing catch up with them. If this is a win to you then when Sony brings out the games in their second and third year...I would love to see your face. When MS starts slipping with the new IP's it will be Sony excelling. Anyone who owns a Sony console and has owned them for a while should know the golden rule. The games are in the oven and the first two years are always the worst. After that watch the exclusives come out like wildfire.

This is what happens when you support a manufacturer with a massive debt to repay. Well if you didn't support them, they would go out of business, so it's now or never I suppose.

I wonder if that last sentence was an intended pun^^

But yeah. X1 will totally crush PS4 by the power of updates. Just slap achievements on them too and you'll have yourself the best experience a gamer could have.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

You don't have to scramble for updates when your first, granted Sony is a Hardware Company and Microsoft is a Software Company, this is to be expected.

OT:

Funny how, the only articles PS3 got when it failed its launch and released 10 million behind Xbox 360, was doom articles and criticism, some constructive most critical. The XB1 is 3 million behind and suddenly all these "journalists" and "editorialists" are supporting the XB1?

Hypocrits.

I disagree.

Sony still has the better looking, more powerful console. They still have a much more renowned staple of 1st party devs. 3rd Party games (I'm looking at you, Phantom Pain) will always look better. PS+ offers way better content (especially if you have a PS3/Vita). Morpheus is still uncontested in the console space.

So there, that's why.

Isn't MS pushing out more updates because there playing catch up to the PS4. For example isn't external storage supported on PS4 sense launch and now the One is just getting it on an update. Not seeing the big deal here.

The Xbox One's July update brought some dynamic features including added Snap Mode for achievements, new languages for voice control, the ability to "like" Game DVR clips, feed items on SmartGlass and more.

"This is really starting to get annoying," said Reddit user DarkSlayer 224. "Xbox One has gotten like 8 major updates since launch and we've gotten 1... Please Sony, hurry up with MP3 support, DLNA and name changing!"

However, despite this, Sony's console still has strong sales numbers and is the top choice for most gamers who are looking to buy a next-gen console. But if Microsoft keeps this up, they're going to turn the Xbox One into something far more powerful when compared to the PS4.
