Forums - Gaming Discussion - What's a good game to play in front of a non-gaming girlfriend?

Tagged games:

It's not the first time I've been through this.  In fact, I already know which game I'm going to play.  I just thought it would make for a great thread.  Anyway, I have a new GF and she saw my gaming room.  Since it's a new relationship, she's in the "I want to pretend I'll like everything that you like" phase (which comes before the "why do you like such stupid shit?" phase).

The question:  What's a good game to play that will keep a girl's attention (if she only wants to watch and not play).  And whoever posts something like BMX XXX or Dead Or Alive Xtreme--let me be the first to tell you how creative and funny you are!

How about paying attention to her instead of doing something she doesn't like to do? :o

Super Mario Galaxy 1 &2. It's a character she knows, it's easy to follow, and she can even participate with the Wii Remote.

How long have you been dating her? I would recommend waiting a while before playing games in front of her, at least for long periods of time. She needs to feel like she has your full attention. Re-read that last sentence, specifically the word "feel." You  can demonstrate your amazing multitasking abilities and show that you can carry a full conversation with her, but as long as your eyes are on the screen and not on her, she will feel like she's losing to the game.

I'd say wait until she initiates the "You don't have my full attention" activities. When she whips out her gadgets and starts playing with her mobile games or Facebook, or gets on the phone with her girlfriends, or hopefully, if you're lucky, she's the type that buries her nose in a book, that's when it's OK for you to do your thing. Then, if she tries to say you don't give her enough attention, you can say that she was doing her own thing, so you were giving her space.

No More Heroes or Conker's Bad Fur Day.

LOL seriously, maybe something like Mario Kart or if you want to go edgier, perhaps Infamous or Uncharted.

Playing with her or playing in front of her?
