I'd say there is a 90% chance Atari will be bought by some other company in the near future. It seems pretty obvious to me that Phil is being hired to sell the company as he has many high level contacts in the industry. Phil can make a lot of money in a very short time if Atari is acquired.

Was this guy any good?

Its the first time I actually agree with Neos . Yes , I will miss his interviews , because he was allways good at those , but maybe a new perspective will be even better :D

Going to Atari is not a good move. Infogames, a French company, bought Atari a while back. When Atari announced they'd be publishing games only - and got delisted off a stock market, that's bad news. Shoot, even Infogames trimmed Atari's North American staff big time.

For him to bolt to a sinking ship leads me to believe one thing - he knew his head was on a chopping block and decided to jump from the frying pan into the fire and hope to survive.

Atari is really just a shell of itself. Infogames just wanted the historic name. Remember last year when the Atari CEO bolted? Infogame doesn't care one bit about Atari and I don't think Phil Harrison will work miracles as the head of Atari if Infogames is still not listening to whatever Atari says ...

I guess Kaz is the only Sony original left huh?

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

Look at the website again guys:

UPDATE: There was some confusion previously over Atari Inc and the Infogrames companies, which are not the same entity. David Pearce was the former CEO of Atari Inc, while David Gardner replaced Patrick Leleu at Infogrames. It is Infogrames that is the possible destination for Mr Harrison, not Atari Inc. GamesIndustry.biz would like to apologise for any confusion arising from this.

He is going to Infogrames, NOT to Atari.....now that is a big confusion...

Explanation of sig:

I am a Pakistani.....my name is Dan....how hard is that? (Don't ask about the 101...apparantely there are more of me out there....)

To me he seemed to be the only talking head at Sony that was actually likable and had a clue.

Now, I said in the original thread (when Phil made those comments about Wii in GDC) that I like the fact he can speak his mind even though I don't agree with him

NOw I take my comment back.

I don't respect him at all. those old comments of him were obviously politically driven. Sorry Phil, good knowing ya, you could've left with better attitude.

i agree 110%, those coments made me abset with sony while it was just him all alone.
