Opening Week Figures

Mario Kart 8: 1,106,290
Nintendoland: 386, 962 (Mostly due to Bundling)
New Super Mario Bros U: 306, 143
Super Mario 3D World: 267, 495 (Sold 310, 932 it's fifth week however due to Christmas)

These are the highest selling opening weekends to date on the Wii U. I have to mention The Windwaker because it had a large second weekend (246,116) but other than that no other game really even comes close.

Is there a future Wii U game (I'm talking for the rest of this consoles life span) that'll be able to top Mario Kart 8's opening weekend? Super Smash Bros? Zelda U? Super Mario Galaxy 3? Or has the biggest opening weekend already been set in stone? If you think it can be beaten, please mention which game and why.

Super Smash Bros U will destroy MK8 record. If it weren't holiday it be about 1.2mil FW (Digital/Shipped). If it comes out Nov then i think it'll do 2mil+ FW

It is possible, with SSB for Wii U being a Holiday release. Brawl released in early 2008 on different weeks in different territories, but it managed 1,355,000 in the US opening weekend, 842,000 in Japan opening weekend, and 244,000 in Europe. But also the Wii had sold over 20 million units by that time. I think it'll be close, but if any game can do it it'll be SSB.
