It is possible, with SSB for Wii U being a Holiday release. Brawl released in early 2008 on different weeks in different territories, but it managed 1,355,000 in the US opening weekend, 842,000 in Japan opening weekend, and 244,000 in Europe. But also the Wii had sold over 20 million units by that time. I think it'll be close, but if any game can do it it'll be SSB.
