Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Sunset Overdrive 900p/30fps

I am sure that will be plenty good. I think people get carried away in terms 1080p. I really think with most people's setup that 720p is perfectly acceptable. Framerate is far more important and it would be nice to see more reaching 60 fps but I think this game is going to be fine with these reported specs. Great game for you Xbox One owners and I cannot wait to read about it from you when it comes out. :)

Bolded = great thinking... I'm not sure about the rest of your post though. Is it so bad playing on X1? Maybe I'm blind... I played a lot of the other platforms except for WiiU and yep, I'm fine with what I have and I'm not trying to downplay anything the others have...

Don't get me wrong, all I'm saying that for every choice there is some kind of a trade-off. And everyone should choose which side of a trade-off they want to be, what they are willing, and what they're not willing to accept. I was just giving those examples as trade-offs currently in play when opting for one choice. Nothing more. I do believe the examples are correct, I tried to remain factual.

I get what you mean but I don't get how any of these are trade-offs...

- Current and future XBox owners obviously didn't purchase their console because of resolution. They prefer multiplayer shooters to single player cinematic experiences.

If people bought consoles for resolution they would go on PC right? As for gaming preferences well... imo that wasn't necessary and will not comment on that.

- They prefer their exclusive franchises, regardless of resolution. A few pixels here and there do not lessen their enjoyment of those games.

Spot on ;) ... other things matter before resolution.

- They prefer entertainment apps, snap feature, achievements etc. so they don't mind playing an inferior version of a multiplatform game.

Yeah I know these are great additions. Ohh another useless opinion. Again, unless you're part of the PC Master Race you're also playing on an inferior version of multiplatform games

- They enjoy having exciting new TV shows such as Halo and Every Street United, they are willing to trade off some plug and play capabilities.

What?

- Those who were not willing to make that trade off have moved on to other gaming devices.

And those who just like to have fun experiences where are they?

- So no amount of arguing about an insignificant peculiarity like a slightly lower resolution or framerate will all of a sudden make them abandon all those preferences. And that is very comendable.

You said it.

Now beeing serious it doesnt matter the game will be super fun. Sony side needs to drop the resolution comparision crap and MS side needs to drop the "XOne has got a 20000000% power boost now that we added this new sproket to the XOne therell be parity now crap"

This pretty much...

The game looks good I'm sure it will run better then Dead Rising 3 and that game was and is a lot of fun despite minor issues.

Gawd dammit xbox. #mustdobetter

That gap sure is closing even on exclusives?

The game wasnt made for the Xbox Ones architecture. Its no better than getting a multiplat, really. 1080p should never have been expected.

Yep sometimes you have to use violence to counter violence ;)

My comment originaly refered to countless comparisons with another game that SO "copied". It's always the same idiotic comments that lead to another idiotic comment... am I right? People talk about their preferences in games, resolution seems to have taken the better of a lot of people as I don't see people bragging about less content in their games but more about not achieving a certain resolution.

There is a difference between the use of parallel logic and simply being inconsistent with your own statement :P

Idiocy does lead to idiocy, but your comment simply added fuel to the fire your criticizing. Half this thread is people making sarcastic comments or saying it doesn't matter. Each of those posts has helped the thread survive a little bit longer, essentially adding to the issue.

This isn't a one sided issue either. If xbox fans insist on making a thread every time a game has "parity", or every time the X1 has a new secret sauce, then naturally Sony fans are going to post every time a game doesn't hit parity or runs at a lower resolution than they enjoy as standard.

I do agree these resolution battles have gotten far out of hand, but that doesn't mean it doesn't matter at all.

Xbox gamers sure did mind having inferior versions of games to the PS3. Xbox fans don't care.

Sunset Overdrive looks amazing as is. I see no reason to complain about its resolution. You will be too busy shooting stuff to notice.

All these resolution threads are overkill. Just buy a $2000 PC if you need to play your games in 1080p.

To be fair PS3 gamers would have wished the only difference was Resolution and a lower, but locked, FPS. Some of those ps3 ports were absolutely woefully done.
