The number of voters went down this month, but considering how the Pre-E3 edition is typically slow and last mowas the first 100+ voter month, the totals were still high.

The big general trend of the month for Microsoft was Sunset Overdrive gaining a lot of points seemingly at the expense of Halo and Quantum Break, which was recently delayed. Beyond that, Microsoft lacks 1st party hits in the known future, though it's still better than the 360 from 2011 to 2013.

Nintendo remains by far the biggest publisher, even in the aftermath of Mario Kart 8. MK8's release simply game Super Smash Bros for both platforms more room to shine, although excitement for X might be winding a bit down. Beyond that, Nintendo has got a few notable Wii U and 3DS games, though Tomodachi Life comes out in a week. As an aside guys? Voting for the next Zelda is a bit weird, considering how we've never had a single peek of the game. I mean, you don't see PlayStation fans voting en masse for Uncharted 4, do you?

Seriously?

Despite the PlayStation family having hundreds of points worth of third party support, they are the weakest first party publisher, especially if you only take consoles into the equation. Uncharted  going to be a hit, and The Order looks to be solid, but besides that? The 1st part PlayStation scene is a bit lacking.

Platform by Platform Analysis:

  • The Wii U continues to lead, mostly because of X and Super Smash Bros 4, which are responsible for over half the point total. It's worth noting that the WIi U has other games ranking highly though. For instance, Zelda U, Bayonetta 2, Hyrule Warriors, Sonic Boom, and, to my surprise, Watch Dogs. Ubisoft would almost not even be listed as a notable publisher this month without the Wii U version of Watch Dogs picking it up.
  • Over 7 years later, the PS3 is not going down without a fight. Most of its points came from JRPG's like Tales and Persona 5. The PS4, however, had nearly triple as many points, and is a solid second behind the Wii U. A whopping 34 PS4 games charted, of which only a few are exclusive. It seems the PS4 is the multiplatform console of this gen. That said, Uncharted, like Zelda U, did surprisingly well for a game with little known info.
  • The 360 might be dead again, but the One goes on! Halo and Quantum Break fell a bit this month, but Sunset Overdrive rose to third place in the skus, while the other games remained significant. Besides these four shooters though, the Xbone is a bit lacking, even in terms of multiplats. It appears that Xbox fans are becoming more exclusive focused, like PS3 fans were for a while in 2012 and Nintendo fans have been since, I dunno, 1996.
  • The PC remains a multiplat-dominated platform, with only Civilization standing out as an exclusive. However, with over 100 points, it's doing decently enough, in part due to the presence of 19 other games.
  • The 3DS only had 10 titles chart. However, three of these were Pokemon, Smash, and Tomodachi Life. These alone pushed the platform higher than the PC. Despite this 1st party support, however, the long-term future of the platform is hard to judge, especially since Tomodachi Life is releasing in a few days and Smash by summer's end.
  • The VIta is relying heavily on a number of minor 3rd party Japanese games. Even Sony's offerings, like Freedom Wars, are not gathering much buzz. However, the platform's longterm future appears to be stable at least, so long as new Japanese games eventually get localized.
  • The Arcade platform had an infinite increase month over month, scoring a whopping 5 points. At this rate, every other platform should be dead by year's end.

Other

  • The struggle between the JRPG and the Shooter to be VGChart'z top genre continues, with X saving the day for the JRPG once again.
  • Without Mario Kart 8, the racing genre plumetted. Hard. Incidentally, the top upcoming Racing game is also a Wii U sku.
  • Atlus is doing great for a publisher with three skus.
  • E3 is next month. Mark your calendars!

Bloody Starcraft.

Tagging this so I can read later.

Poor starcraft.

Time to sticky and then wait for the *other* thread to go up.

(8/9 days!)

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Good to see you got this one out before some other pesky moderator came in and ruined it.

Krezzy seemed all too eager, you know...

Looking at the results, Sunset Overdrive should do pretty well. But yeah, the Sony 1st party scene is worryingly bare.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

lol @starcraft

Do I need to say "what a great work you've done" again, Salnax? Wel, of course I do! Excellent job as usual, Salnax.

It's amazing how many votes Nintendo has, more than twice as much as the second one... although if Nintendo fans had more third party games to vote, that result could be different. Just saying.

It will be interesting to see how much the list changes next month, after all the E3 surprises and reveals. Will Smash remain on top? Will (the hopefully by then named) X come on top? Or we'll be a new champion?

Please excuse my bad English.
