I love the boxing game, it's a lot of fun, and it takes some skill too, me and my friend played for 3 hours and were exhausted, the next day he called me to ask if my arms were hurting as much as his which I told him yeah. It is by far the hardest workout you can get in that game.

 I hold the wiimote and the nunchuk straight out, as far as they can go, and taunt them, by making a "come on/come here" sort of motion. It really pisses off my brother-in-law, lol.

I love the boxing, but I've never been able to get past that 800 mark. I get smoked here, and pretty bad. I can barely knock them down once, and when I do, they're up after a few counts. I need this epiphany that you had stof. 

Boxing for me is my second favourite game. One of the games that most people hate, baseball, is my favourite. The pitching system isn't the best, but batting is just so beautiful. Just seeing that curveball come, breaking over the plate, and you take a big swing, and it goes out of the park........it brings tears to my eyes.  

the most effective thing is the timing, the first short won't do that much, but by laying successive shots on with a steady pace will do the real damage.

You do need to duck and weave and block and counter. I had gotten quite frustrated with the game at times, but really it is actually skill based. It's amazing how many people are absolutely convinced otherwise.

Wii Tennis is still the best multiplayer experience on Wii IMO.
I played with 4 of my friends and it was big in the pants I've got to say.
