Forums - Website Topics - Remembering VGcharts.org (who is Tadj?)

I found the archive pages of Vgcharts.org on Alexa.com
http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.vgcharts.org

I think it's pretty interesting to see how the homepage appearance has changed, all it had was the top 20 titles and hardware for America in the month of May, and the same for Japan except it was for a week.

Also I wanted to ask who Tadj was? because the copyright at the bottom of the page says: Copyright © 2006 Broshnat and Tadj

Here are the pages for vgchartz.com too:

I remember those days... Good times. The half mill and million seller colours were still a great idea. I look forward to their return.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

I remember those days, also if you type in your user name in google search you can get a time capsule of your profile, I can see mine when I had a coloured background and it displays my recent post history and post count etc etc of the date they all froze.

yep, I remember that. It was a few months after I started here that it switched. I don't remember Tadj though, like Broshnat, he must have very rarely posted.

Thanks for that bit from the past. I know VGCharts from later, I started looking since February 2007, a year now.

well that first link could be from the very first day of vgcharts (or at least the first week)

The first time I came here was December 06, but it looked nothing like the blue boxed version shown in the links from late August onwards, so ioi must have changed it for the Wii/PS3 release.

Seems the style changed in August twice, the second time (click on Aug 25) was when the forum was introduced... with threads made by Broshnat, Joni and Luthor.

Can I ask what was the "select your region" box about (see late August and September links) I assume there was a world map under there at some point but what did it link to?

i liked the sales database there was in that time imo
that database > database now ( stupid graph )

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

What do you mean Kirby?

You mean the colours for the 500k/1million seller etc?

Or do you mean the old line graphs with the tables of weekly (well monthly for America back then) sales?

-----
I certainly prefer the new graphs, perhaps the lines could be a little thinner so it is clearer, or better still, have oit so that when you roll over the point to get the exact number, it should display it in that lines colour so you know which console it is refering to if they are close for the week.

wow... those pages are before my time :)

This thread deserves to be stickied... has it already been?

the Wii is an epidemic.

this is why i first came here : http://web.archive.org/web/20061010011440/www.vgcharts.org/japyearlysum.php
