Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Xbox One and Titanfall bundle makes the Microsoft game console a better deal than the PS4

I remember laughing at this argument when it was being made in favor of the PS3's wi-fi/bluetooth controllers/Blu-ray player vs. XBOX 360. It's still quite comical. What if I don't want Titanfall? Apparently not everyone does seeing as how only 1/3 of XBOX One owners have it.

In defense of MS (which is rare for me), 33% is a pretty damn good attach ratio

Value wise it is a better value there is no denying that when you look at the deals. Of course it boils down to opinion and what someone wants. But as far as the value/cost goes if you were to put the PS4 next to this XB1 deal then it is better. No need to argue about it or bring up the past when the PS3 had the better value/cost because it was also true for the PS4 back then.

Just because this isn't making the XB1 SELL better than the PS4, it DOES NOT mean that it is an incorrect statement...geez some defensive folks around here lol....and this is coming from a Sony fan lol.

Why not? When it had the better value, all everyone said was that "it didn't matter. It's still $600. You can get the alternative for cheaper". Same can be said for the Titanfall bundle. "Doesn't matter. It's still $450. You can get the alternative for cheaper"

I only brought up that comparison because of all the flip-floppery going on, in terms of "value" when comparing this gen to last. Not as a means of getting defensive. The article wasn't inaccurate or offensive. Cost wise, the XBone is the better "value" right now (depending on how you look at it. Is it a $450 console with a free game or a $390 console with a $60 game? Considering everyone is calling TF a "free game" in the bundle, I'm going with the former especially since you can't buy a $390 XBone). My point was, if perceived value didn't supercede what you paid out of your pocket when you bought the console last gen, it shouldn't supercede it now. Basically, the article is moot

Again I am not denying that by any means lol. I agree with you whole heartedly. I am just also speaking from the other side. I felt the PS3 had way more value for it's price in the previous gen.

All I am pointing out is without taking anything else into consideration looking at just the money aspect of things JUST price alone with the game it make the XB1 a better value in that aspect than the PS4. Does it make it a better value to me personally as a consumer no because I prefer the PS4 and what it has to offer over the XB1. But that doesn't stop me from seeing the value PRICE wise in the XB1 TF bundle. But again I agree with what you are saying lol.

The absence of evidence is NOT the evidence of absence...

We live in a time where if you buy anything besides PS4, you're ridiculed on the spot.

"LOLOLOL YOU BOUGHT WEAKER HARDWARE?!"
"lol wow bro, u are super dumb for buying an xbone"
"man i feel bad for u, spending 100 more dollars on a brick"
"ps4 outselling x1, so ps4 better. ur dumb for buying a console no one wants"

I remember when I would go to my friend's house after work and play on his PS3, and whenever he came to visit me we would game on my 360. We both had fun, neither of us didn't care about the PS3 vs. 360 crap. It was all about the games. Such a shame people spread this PS4 vs X1 garbage on others.

Nobody here is acting defensive from my side ... It's a known fact that value is determined by consumers. You really can't analyse by price but rather you have to do it by market demand.

In which you are correct hence the reason I said it boils down to opinion. BUT looking at the side by side without taking ANYTHING else into consideration. Just the price of what is shown for the TF bundle and the PS4 MONENTARY value wise (not sure if I used that correctly lol) the TF XB1 bundle has the better value.

But the consumers still prefer the PS4 which again is fine no one is denying that from what I can see.

But why can't I make the claim that value is not dependent on price ? You can clearly see that price has little to do with the true meaning of value ... Monetary value has little meaning if consumers don't acknowledge the product.

The PSVita has quite a few great Indies on it and that is growing all the time. If you are talking AA and AAA then you would be correct

I know. I've already acknowledged that. I'm not hating on X1. I'm hating on the argument.

Indies suck. I hate even seeing them on my PSN.

It's a better deal if you like Titanfall and FPS like Halo, which a lot of people do. I personally don't play games online, I'm mostly a "campaign" single game player so right now the PS4 is still the better deal since I'm a huge fan of Uncharted, God Of War, and am looking forward to playing TLOU and trying out inFamous. Also love survival horror and since I can only play Outlast on PS4 that's the way to go for me, especially at that price.

No you see that in itself is defensive. The Vita has alot going for it. Better hardware, PS Plus free games, and solid games library. I can say that the Vita is a better value then the 3ds. Doesn't change that the 3ds is kicking its ass. Consumers decide what wins, value is a completely different aspect. You assume consumers think rationally. Many tablets do what a Ipad can do for hundreds cheaper, yet Ipad beasts them all. Brand mindshare, bandwagon hopping, etc. is very much different from the value a product actually poses.

Just admit your playing the see-saw effect. I get it, its your turn to brag so don't pretend to have any "logic" behind your argument. Just say what we are all thinking: "PS4 is selling better and therefore your argument is invalid". It's ok, I was there and now its your turn. But dont pretend to add any substance to your response when there is none.

Can you seriously say that Vita has a solid game library when it's software sales are flopping around and about ? If a consumer has the power to decide what wins then why don't they have the power to determine what's more valuable according to the market ? Why aren't consumers rational ? All they want is a solution and it is a FACT that WII delivered a better value then either the PS360. Maybe it's because the ipad may be a better value ? Has it ever occurred to you that that their is more to value than the price of a product ? If no one sees a point to buy your cheaper solution then how can it be the better solution ?

Hey, I ain't exactly in this console war LOL. Although it's extremely funny to see you get so hurt over a statement.

I look at metacritic and I can safely say Vita has a solid library. You are again confusing buying habits with quality, when that is simply not the case. Consumers don't have to be logical in ther buying habits. They can be downright emotional in their buying. They can be brand loyal to a product name for life. Wii may have won but most core gamers will tell you that 360/PS3 were the real gaming machines of that generation. To make this as simple as possible, winning does not equal best quality.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.
