Always happy to see Nintendo doing well among all the doomed posts

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

The same graph in early 2015 will be interesting. I wonder if that's when the Wii U will peak? I can't see it having a massively long life cycle unless something drastic happens.

PC master race is really rather small.

Whenever someone poo poos consoles again because PCs are so advanced just let them know PC < 10% of the market.

My 8th gen collection

Even the smallest wins matter

Go Wii U!

Nice spin.

that HAS to be a gaf headline. Lol.

Anyhow.

So its confirmed, wiiu is still irrelevant. About 15% market share for Jan and feb. Throw in march and it will be under 10%.

not sure how reliable these numbers are to be fair.

7.4% in revenue terms.

Those numbers seem rather small... PC isn't as big as people seem to think, but the UK has a long history of PC gaming and it's bigger here than most places. Certainly bigger in UK than in USA and Japan by population, as while the NES was taking them by storm the UK was falling back on PC with the Commodore and Amiga computers.

I wonder what they're counting as a "software sale". It's easy to get reliable numbers for consoles, they simply count licenced digital software and retail releases all licenced and accounted for, but then digital is such a small part are they even counting it? How do you even count software sales with PC. Are they counting every game release online on various sources? Are they counting Steam, Origin, GoG, and more? Are they only counting retail releases on disc bought in shops, in which case, that would certainly explain it...

Whilst I'm sure PC gaming is a far smaller fraction that PC gamers want to believe, < 10% of the market is simply too small. This is clearly an interpretation of the data that skips over far too much and misrepresents the whole picture.

Yeah because ignoring digital sales is a fair comparison.

I don't even know of any game shops that even still sell retail PC games.

It's impressive that the 360 is still able to stay way above the PS3 in the UK. I wonder when is that going to stop happen ( if it will ever stop happening)!
