Forums - Gaming Discussion - Why The PS4 Is Kicking Xbox One's Arse

Tagged games:

This is contradicting. He does state that indies aren't a system seller and they aren't because the ps4 isn't marketed on indies.

But the whole video hints that indies is why the ps4 is out selling the xbox.......hmmm

I don't know why the ps4 is kicking arse but it's not because of what this guy talked about.

EDIT: yeah like that guy said, it's winning in the US because of price as unbiased people at large view the xbox 1 and ps4 as the same thing but one is cheaper.

internationally they reject american products......

It's English for one's behind.

Other than the price, i have no idea why the PS4 is selling gangbusters right now.

If the ONE was $100 less the the PS4 in the US, it would be way ahead. Simple as that.  Deny it all you want.

Wasn't aware i denied anything ^^ Was just confirming you believe the near entirety of a product success is due to it's price.

Must be why the 360 has been so far ahead of the PS3 in the EU all these years.

Price is 95% of it.

saying anything else is delusional.

I disagree.

Price is a huge factor sure, but there is a whole lot more to it than that. You know there is.

PlayStation as a brand is bigger than Xbox Worldwide. PlayStations PR has been impeccable, while Microsofts has been an absolute disaster. PlayStation has the better versions of multiplat titles.

A big part of it comes down to the pre-launch fuck ups from Microsoft vs the pre-launch pandering to the gamer from Sony. Sony did all the right things, while Microsoft did all the wrong things. They went from being the favourite to being public enemy number 1.

Yeah, the Xbox One would be ahead in the US if it was $100 less than the PS4. If the Wii U was $100 cheaper it would probably outsell the PS4 too.

I think hes using the indie push on PS4 as a way of showing how PS4 as a platform basically looks more appealing. PS Plus is growing bigger daily and getting better as the Months go by thanks to games like Don't Starve and Outlast. Sony have gone out and pushed things on PS4, offering more value. Not putting certain apps behind a paywall. Being consumer friendly. Not being the arrogant Sony of old.

Hes saying that Sony are pushing things that make you want the system, things that get you talking about the system in a good way, pushing a positive word of mouth. The indie titles he mentioned were popular games that have sold well - By offering these titles its showing that Sony are bringing brilliant value. Theyre not putting payed apps behind paywalls. Theyre not relying on one big game at retail, theyre offering constant value (despite a lot of it being behind the PS Plus paywall).

At least thats what I got from it anyway.

Pretty poor reasoning, basicly just saying indie games.

He's right and you're wrong.

What other reasoning do you want?

I think you just contradicted yourself.

I thought he was being sarcastic because the Wii U *is* 100 bucks cheaper and is getting crushed.

It's only because of the price.

I read it as 100$ cheaper than the WiiU's current MSRB. So 299$ down to 199$, Wii-type pricing.

In that sense, he would be right.

Didn't really work that way for the Gamecube.

Anyway I don't think that's what he meant.
