I don't think this is well-founded, but to let it happen would be quite the fiasco for Sony. Titanfall not coming to PS4 is bad enough alredy.

It's panic stations at Sony HQ right now.

i wouldn't be surprised. this gen MS shown they a lot of money and little business sense.

Some questions regarding your statement:

Seriously?

How did they become rich? By writing cheques?

Who in this industry actually has business sense then? Nintendo or Sony?
Did you know that Xbox 360 / Xbox One / Surface hardware (not even including first party software) reported a 470 million USD profit last Q compared to 170 million for PS3 / PS4 and PS Vita (including first party software)?

Did you know MS payed almost HALF A BILLION dollars for Rare?

They never used Rare's IPs well and Rare is now making casual games.

yeah MS never wastes money /s

It might be a bad game, but I actually enjoyed Resident Evil 6's offline co-operative campaign. You can say what you want, but few games nowadays give you the option to play along with a buddy.

That being said...I don't buy this. Wasn't Capcom's plan to diversificate themselves? You know, to release games in almost every single console available to make profit? Dead Rising 3 went to Xbox One, and Deep Down went to Playstation 4, but that's it. I still have a feeling those two games will eventually release on their competitor's machine; so...

I can see it timed-exclusive, but exclusive itself? That's like saying the next-gen Tales game goes exclusive again, like Vesperia. Doubtful.

Precisely. Resident Evil 7 will be Xb one exclusive. Biohazard 7, on the other hand, will be multiplatform.

Exclusive to one system in the West but multiplat in Japan? Has that ever been done with a major series before?

Tales of Vesperia?

Nintendo needs to buy Capcom to save them from themselves.

I had always assumed that MS bought exclusivity of DR3 since they don't own the franchise but if Capcom made it exclusive on purpose they are out of their minds. In this day and age, their are few reasons to go exclusive and the sales of a launch exclusive are not one.

Good. Now the series can die. Sometimes I'm not even sure whether Microsoft just blind when it comes to quality or not.  Hopefully this rumor isnt true, but if so RE will die slowly this gen.

I woudn't be suprised if they've made back what they spent on Rare between Kameo, Viva Pinata, Nuts and Bolts, and Kinect Sports 1 and 2, they equal up to over 11 million copies sold. They already used one old Rare IP, Killer Instinct, and it's very likely that Rare's next game after Kinect Sports Rivals will be from one of their classic IP's, as there has been some hinting towards it. So I wouldn't call the Rare acquisition a waste of money.

They bought them TWELVE YEARS AGO.

And you think your statement "they've made back what they spent" carries any value at all!!!???

- twelve years

- half a billion dollars

- dev costs

- mediocre to good games with mediocre to good sales and a casual game that sold well

It was a waste of money end of story. They could have built better teams with much, much less money than that. They could've invested in new IPs instead of half-heartedly reusing old ones that were never as popular as people seem to remember. It was a waste.

Kinect Sports couldv'e been made by anyone. It didn't need a half-a-billion dollar dev studio to do it.

I'm sure they've made back a significant portion of that between Kameo, Perfect Dark Zero, Viva Pinata, Nuts and Bolts, and Kinect Sports 1 and 2, they equal up to over 11 million copies sold (and that's just physical copies, it's more with digital included). They already used 3 old Rare IP's, Banjo, Perfect Dark, and Killer Instinct, and it's very likely that Rare's next game after Kinect Sports Rivals will be from one of their classic IP's, as there has been some hinting towards it. They still have all of those classic IP's for use in the future. And you've also got to factor in the number of 360's that the Rare acquisition might have sold. So I wouldn't call the Rare acquisition a waste of money, they'll make back what they spent before too long if they haven't already.

Who said they should or are panicking ? The point being is that they lose market share when a major third-party game doesn't appear on their system.
