No shit.

But even at the same price, the PS4 was going to have the edge on sales.

Well, that means people are smart.

You see 2 products, one is better than the other but the 2 are at the same price, any decent customer would buy the best product.

X1 should be less expensive than PS4

Yes, a preference in video games is a sign of intelligence...

If the 3DS and Vita were the same price, the VIta would still get dominated in spite of the Vita being technically superior. A lot of people prefer Nintendo handheld consoles and better support sealed the deal.

Playstation is still a more popular brand than Xbox. For Xbox to win over fans they need to beat Sony at price, but they didn't attempt to do that this gen and its no surprise they're trailing behind.

Xbox doesn't have Pokemon or Monster Hunter. They can't beat Sony at games with just FPS's and the occasional driving game.

Hmmm... you missed the point and I didn't imply Xbox can beat Sony at games. Although, 360 may have sold more 1st party software in the 7th gen.

For my personal preference, Xbox beat Sony at games. Games like Halo, Gears, and Killer Instinct made X1 the most desireable platform for me. But hey, I still enjoy Sony games. I just beat Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror.

what concerns me more about resolution is aliasing.
i dont mind play low res games if they have a good AA.

720p upscaled to 1080p with 4x MSAA will look worse than native 1080p with no AA under most circumstances

but when is the 4x MSAA is applied?

on the rendering in 720p, or when upscaling to 1080p? in the second case, i presume it will be worst.

I said that because of some parts of SM3DW, the bowser modeling i cant see any jaggie or aliasing. im ok with 720, as long AA be as good as in that case.

Even in the CGs of KH 358 days, in DS. Seems so beautifull without any aliasing. But when start the gameplay, the modeling seems similar to CG, but the great difference is the aliasing. and looks awful.

I am not saying aliasing does not make a good bit of difference but that it does not make up for resolution. Nothing can make up for resolution. The more pixels the more details than can be shown, the more pixels there are the smaller they are which make jaggels less noticeable

and i am saying that im ok with less details, as long it hasnt jaggies.

of course a high resolution will show less jaggies compared to a low resolution, if both are without AA. But im comparing a low resolution with AA to a high resolution without AA.

if AA reduces jaggies more than a high resolution without AA, i prefer the first option. its ok for me.

I agree. I think it is ok if there are people discussing about the resolutions of some games but I think some people are too crazy about it and make a post for every game and every new statement about this. That's overdone.

I don't hate Microsoft, I don't hate PC,
I don't prefer Sony, I don't prefer Nintendo.
...Ok, I love Nintendo but this is something about tolerance, ok?

I'm a gamer with one of the greatest hobbies and I want to share this greatness with everyone.

@jonathanalis

As I said though, AA can not replace resolution. 720p + AA will have less details and more jaggles than 1080p with no AA. The only exception to the rule with the jaggles is if you pit a ton of AA on the 720p and if you do that you might as well up the resolution to 1080p to get the more details as well.

The only thing more important than resolution is frame rate. For an FPS I would take 720p and 60 FPS vs 1080p and 30 FPS. For a 3rd person shooter I would take the 1080p and 30 FPS. But the frame rate needs to be optimized to the type of game it is because it can ultimately decide how "fun" a game is.
