Forums - Gaming Discussion - Microsoft wants to use Xbox Dashboard for political messages? Ugh.

Ok, so let's take the fact that this is Microsoft out of the equation.  Let's just say it's a console manufacturer in general, do we REALLY want to see politics and political advertising infecting our gaming experience??

Ridiculous post. MS has done more for human rights/equality in the work place than Sony and Nintendo combined (noy hyperbole). Funny how all the genuinely good deeds they do go completel unnoticed.

I am shocked. No, really.

Although any GOP advertising is trash, advertising is advertising so if it is a product ad or political ad it doesn't matter to me.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

lol

Basically, they got a bunch of democratic candidates advertising on XBL before and they want the other side to feel comfortable doing the same thing - possibly so they don't look skewed politically and remain neutral.

And this angers people because... why?

Lets just keep political ads out period. Sigh, in some ways the days of the ol' Super NES/Genesis were a lot better.

I do respect the work MS has done as a *company* and Bill Gates in particular through philanthrophy, but the game division? Not so much.

At the end of the day, I really don't see the big deal in this, nor do I care.
