There are Wii U ads. However, they are mostly on specific websites, and channels when children's cartoons or family programming are playing. For example, I have seen Wii U ads during WWE programming. I've seen them on Nickelodeon. Etc.

They do need to put their ads on more prime time slots. But at the same time, less people are watching TV these days, especially younger folks. So having ads on Youtube, etc., is not such a bad thing.....

No one is arguing though, that they do need to have more ads.

Sincerely I don't get what Nintendo is doing with this WiiU.   I'm sad.     Coming from someone who loved N64 and GC !!!!!!!

Because Mario Kart isn't out, yet.

I thought they skipped on the ads last year so that they could fool people into thinking Wii U was new like the PS4/One. Now, I guess they're just waiting on more mainstream games. A montage of good games might help.

The problem itself is that the commercials are shit. They're still pandering to the casual audience that left them for dead after the Wii.

It's funny. When I think back to when I was a kid, Nintendo commercials were EVERYWHERE. Cartoons, the back of comic books, magazines--they were all over the place.

Why? Because they were commercials made and paid for by third party games.

Now that Nintendo is alone in the world, they don't have that anymore. They have to pay for everything themselves. Unfortunately, Nintendo doesn't really like spending money.

Though I did see a Kong commercial during RAW. Unfortunately, it kind of sucked.

How many cartoons, comic books and magazines have you used recently? Maybe it is not even the place to advertise to reach kids today.

Why doesn't Nintendo advertise the Wii U?
Its hard to sell shit (Wii U) to a regular person but an organic farmer (Nintendo fan) would quite happily buy it.

On a serious note though the PS4 is not really being advertised in australia but is selling very well regardless so whether Nintendo advertises the Wii U or not I don't think that'll help all that much

honestly I think it's a west vs. east disconnect. They only really advertise (now and in the past) late q3 and q4. It's a good time to advertise because people are clearly going to spend money for the holidays. What the don't seem to understand is that spring is an excellent time to advertise as the u.s. population is getting their tax returns and has money to spend. jan? I get not advertising too much. February and march? that's just a missed opportunity. june, july, august, and early September? again not a prime advertising time other than e3 news.
