Forums - Microsoft Discussion - The Xbox One price cut is slightly insulting, desperate & utterly brilliant

Doesn't bother me at all. As an early adopter this is normal. I have a day one edition and have been extremely happy with purchase, as are my friends who have already bought one.

Early adopters get stiffed.

Always.

Totally. You buy early because you want it bad enough to pay a premium. Am I outraged at anyone buying it now that it has more games and a better OS because they get a better first day experience? No. Same with a price cut.

So it's a small price drop in a territory where the Xbone was very expensive anyway. Not seeing the desperation. And as an "early adopter" I understand things will happen. Hell, I am as excited for GOTG as anyone and will have had my Xbone like 1 1/2 months before it's out and I still don't give a shit that new buyers get it for free. So I don't feel "insulted" either.

Consumer Satisfaction is irrelevant, Only Sales matter.

Is this actually a joke?

A price cut is permanant, a sale is not. Doesn't have to be universal for it to be a price cut .. rofl.

Where did MS come out and say this was a permanent price for UK?

You're right. Actually they have more reasons to be happy than to be sad. This will help their console to get more market share and ultimately more games.

"Ultimately, though, this is how consumer electronics works, and we all knew the risks. Whether a brand new disc format, television or smartphone, you have the choice of paying more to be first -- enjoying your new gadget for several months before anyone else -- or holding out for a discount."

Nuff said. I'm happy that we will get better deals and MS will actually try harder. Still remember all the things Sony did to claw their way up the sales charts while MS just laid back and coasted. Now we will see the reversal. The benefits of losing (yet still profitable/sustainable).

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

I myself could give a shit.

I've been using my XB1 for 3 months and have enjoyed it.  What difference does it make to me what someone else pays for it?  I've got it now and worrying about what the price is now is a waste of time.  All electronics prices go lower over time.  If they drop the Price of the XB1 now, or 6 months from now, what is the real difference?  Nothing.

Just my take...

same here.

same everywhere from the people i have spoken to.

Basically This.

I will add to that list. This is clearly the work of Sony fans. They are angry for us I guess.

UK buyers, can you explain to me something. The price listed includes tax correct. So that is 399.99 with tax included within that price correct?

So why do articles always compared products to USA, where tax is never included in the price.

$499.99 + Tax

(I mean yes, you guys are still getting ripped off), but not as much as 100 pounds like every article seems to imply) (More like 40 pounds, if USA had European Tax Rates)
