Forums - Gaming Discussion - Some of your favorite games from Generation 7 that DID NOT get critical acclaim...

We all talk about the Big games from Generation 7(Gears of War, God Of War, Uncharted, Halo, SMG1&2, RDR, TLOU, SSB etc) but for me there were quite a few games that got little to no credit that I thought were fairly good and went under the radar. So I figured why not start a thread to give those games credit and maybe even let some of you in on ones that you might not have played. So hereit goes...now I only had a 360 and PS3 so my games will only come from those two systems.

Folklore(PS3) - A very early PS3 game that was very nice. I never hear nayone talk about this game but I enjoyed it VERY much. Still one of my favorite PS3 games but it gets little credit. It is kind of like pokemon/monster huner/FF lol. A very fun game worth a try!

Eternal Sonata(PS3/360) - I first bought played this game on 360 but when I no longer had my 360 I found it for the PS3. A real-time RPG with a pretty interesting story and some interesting characters as well. I loved the art style and the game-play. It gets pretty deep the further into the game you go. And if you are a RPG lover like myself then this game is worth a try.

Enchanted Arms(PS3/360) - Yep yet another RPG(yeah I love RPG games lol). I only played this game on 360 and it was one of the earliest 360 games released. While not the most polished game it was indeed a gem for the start of a generation and was a wonder for an RPG lover. The battle system was very nice and I was sad that it never got a follow up or a game that continued witht he battle system because it was nice. It is very cheap online now and worth a try!

Ninja Blade(360) - Over shadowed by games like God of War, Ninja Gaiden heck even Dark siders. While not as polished as the fore mentioned games. This was one of my favorite 360 games. it was something different that stood out from the rest of the hack and slash games. Not sure how to explain it but this was just a game that I enjoyed and still do even to this day.

Kingdoms of Amalur(PS3/360) - This was an RPG game that I never payed much attention to but when I got my hands on it I fell in love with it. Won't go into a long spill about this one but it is worth checking out!

Lost Odyssey(360) - This was THE RPG tow on on 360 in my opinion. And if you ask me is STILL the best RPG on the 360. Loved the combat and story and this is a game to not miss out on if you have a 360.

There are some other games that I could go on about but I want to hear about some other games that any of you may have played that you felt were VERY good but didn't get the praise they deserved.

Lost Odyssey - Was and still is one of my most favorite games this gen.

Beyond 2 Souls - It got a bit cheezy at times but the story was good and the graphics wowed me. Something that games failed to do for me since MGS4.

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen.

Sonic Generations.  That game is somehow rated even lower than Colors on metacritic despite being better in most aspects. There are many optional paths to take, there are many speedy sections that are fun, bosses are a bit better than in Colors, the music is great and the game is simply gorgeous ( specially the PC version!)

Harry Potter and the order of the Phoenix (wii) - average on metacritic: 69

Still had some fun time with this game. It certainly is not one of the best games ever made, but I don't regret spending 30 bucks on it 6 years ago.

The Last of Us. Seriously, not many, as i think am pretty mainstream when it comes to games. I would have liked to see Costume Quest, Rhythm Heaven Fever, Elite Beat Agents and Binary Domain get more attention though.

Resonance of Fate.

It still shocks me that Valkyria Chronicles did not have a meta score in the 90's. The game was one of the most special of the entire generation. It kind of highlights for me how useless numerical scores are relative to games, as I'd rather play an ambitious game with a few drawbacks than a highly polished by-the-numbers game.

Spec ops: the line.- holy shit, didnt see that coming

Valkyria Chronicles.- So beautiful and unique

Nier.- One of the best soundtracks in game history

Bullet witch.- My very best guilty pleasure

folklore.- sixaxis can be fun O_o
