Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Should Nintendo talking about the Wii U successor scare me from buying one?

Well the thing is dont just go out and buy a new system just because its new, buy it for certain games you want to get your hands on. There are so many games that get left in a past generation that are great but people cant play them because they jumped to the next console. I'm in no hurry to upgrade i love the classics. Shit the PS2 alone (even though its ancient hardware now) still has great games i've yet to play, if your not some rich ass kid who's parents give them everything or a person who doesnt have a lot of bills to pay you can upgrade right away and not worry if another system comes out in a year but for the most of us getting a new game (software) every 2 months is pretty damn nice. Bottem line do you want to have fun with the wii u now or take the chance and wait conservatively at least a year till the next one comes out?

-theres still few vc games that are on both consoles, but hopefully they will fix that in the future (according to iwata mid-term)
And what happens to anyone that buys both with the current, broken system?

-Not anymore after the first install, wich they fixed in new consoles
We bought a second WiiU last week, still does it.

-oh boy, nope. Totally disagree
Opinions, gotta love them.

-i dont ever used it, so i cant tell
Why even comment on it then?

-batery last as much as ps4 controller, and this one has a huge ass screen, you can play offscreen with that
DS4 battery life is shit too, so comparing it to the ps4 doesn't change a thing.

-distance to console is more than ok, only solid interferences will cause you troubles (at 6-9 meters)
Yes, like, oh i don't know, walls.. which is exactly what i said, isn't it, do pay attention.

-Nope, nope. You should take a look at the catalog again
I do, fairly often, most of it is sat on the shelf under my TV.

-box weigh? The console is small as fuck, and thats what matters
It has to be given how big the controller is.

-oh you r rigth it has a charguer for the gamepad, what kind of console do that?
Cord to power brick to cord for console, cord to power brick to cord for gamepad, cord to tv, if you want to actually use the vWii then cord to sensor bar on top of that, its a mess. feel free to name one stand alone console that requires two power bricks and two wall socket connections to be usable.

-so i cant go to japan and buy a console without knowing japanese?
It's still a valid complaint, every other console are perfectly capable of providing major global language support on all region released machines.

-thats actually a trouble, not for me of course, but some people migth be pissed because of this
Such as people who would like to import games from japan to play them early.

is people usually this misinformed?

If having a large portion of the available software library and two individual console systems, one of which since launch day, makes me "misinformed" then i really would love to know what one has to do to be "informed" about a console they have owned for over a year.

I cant belive that you have many games as you claim (because i strongly disagree in the "no gaems" part, and i only have a few) but cant refute that either, because i dont know you and stuff

while to my 2012 wiiu i did have to apply that patch, for the recently buyed wiiu from my friend i did not (a bundled one) so i tought that every new wiiu had that fix'd, seems that its not (probably because older ones has not leave the shelves)

my ps4 vs gamepad argument was that the gamepad has a higher chargue (doing offtv and stuff) and still manages to last as long as the ds4. Of course you can always play with the 80-hours long pro controller most of the games (i speak for myself as i have 11 retail games)

cord to power brick to console, cord to tv, cord to gimmick, and cord to controller. All i see is an extra brick (and a small one) than others recent consoles, not enougth to declare it a whole mess imo

And ofcourse i apologize for guessing you didnt had the system, as a ton of people that speak about it has no clue (gotta love when they say "the controller is just too big/heavy/uncomfortable)

The new Nintendo system (Which I will dub Nintendo 7) will not come out until at least the 3DS successor comes out and is on the market for a year. So I wouldn't worry unless Wii U is such a bomb that a successor needs to come

(killeryoshis note - Who put that there ?)
Switch is 9th generation. Everyone else is playing on last gen systems! UPDATE: This is no longer true

The second machine came bundled with Wii Party U, which released here in October 2013, so the oldest it could possibly be is 3 months.

No, what should scare you is

- Purchases of the same game on virtual console are not shared across from 3ds or to 3ds even if they're both linked to the same Nintendo ID
- Installing games or updating games takes a lifetime
- There's very little worth actually buying
- WiiTV is just a glorified TV guide
- Default battery in tablet sucks
- Unless you have wooden walls don't expect to get more than a room away without losing connection to the base console
- Only launch game worth your money is zombiu
- Bundled box weighs more than a ps3 fat boxed did
- wires, wires fucking everywhere.
- For some inexplicable reason all Japanese consoles released after the GameCube do not allow system language go be changed
- region locked, screw you Nintendo.

U have that many complaints including "very little worth actually buying", yet u bought a second Wii U?

This is just negative PR to further kill the WiiU reputation on the market and make people sit out of the Wii U. Typical SonyGAF Black PR.

No, stop worrying. Nintendo has made mistakes, but they're not gone to turn the Wii U into a Sega Saturn.

Yes, they're talking about a next console. But that's to investors, not to the public. The Wii U was in development when the Wii came out, working on a next gen console this early in is not shocking.

I have a laundry list of complaints for every console, yet i still buy every console despite them.
I bought a second WiiU to use as the primary, as I am currently using the first WiiUs tablet as a makeshift development kit for testing software.

Would you rather hear a list of complaints from someone that has no financial investment in the product? because that sounds stupid to me.

You discuss and complain all the time because you just love that damn thing. You want it to be perfect.
