Strangely enough, XBone DOESN'T have any FPS exclusives in 2014, and really, 3rd party x-platforms (better on PS4) have that genre saturated.

PS4 has a solid exclusive (or console exclusive) line up for 2014, like a 50% advantage, some of which are small indies, but more robust games as well.

The only advantage XBone has in exclusives really seems to be in a few big names, Halo, Gears, that don't have any dates or haven't even begun development.

I think with the actual lineup for both consoles in 2014, with plenty of x-platform FPS that will look/play better on PS4, MS' 'aura' will fade even in that group.

Your dorm should probably have this info to make an informed decision. But hey, its your $500.

His dorm mates sound more sophistiated than just COD fans. They switched from the 360 - ps3- to X1, so they go to whichever platform has the best games.

S.T.A.G.E.'s post makes sense to me. Anecdotal, yes, but interesting. It may not be the popular thing among fanatical gaming geekdom, but it makes all the sense in the world. And Titanfall being a system selling hit may be an nightmare for that same subset of gaming, but all signs point to that not being so far fetched.

BUT the Sony fanbase is loyal, loud and arrogant and the PS4 seems to be a great piece of tech, so this gen will be quite a battle for the distance methinks. I just hope it's enough outside of the core ...


i just dont see Titanfall being a X1 system seller, first off its not a exclusive to the X1 its on 360 and pc as well,  i dont see someone upgrading to a x1 from a 360 for titanfall, and those that only have a ps4 they can buy it for the pc.  on top of that the PS4 does have a better games outlook.  They have a much wider variety of exclusives, they arent all shooters of some sort like MS seems to have, on top of that you can expect Sony to have at least 1 new IP this gen, they have had at least 2 new IP's each Gen so far.  The MS fanbase is just as loyal, loud and Arrogant.

Assumption. I can assume too but have mine based on probability. I assume his 20 or so dorm mates are not as educated as us on the forums and most are ignorant about the things ive listed. I also assume the OP is full of hyperbole. not only that but CoD group (which im sure there are some in the 20 dorm mates) were only one group i targeted. Also targeted sports group and budget gamers

Odd so many of them had 400-500$ to spend so early in the console lifecycle. At my UNI we are poor, and are waiting for more games to come out to make a decision on which console to get. PS4 already has the advantage due to being $100 cheaper.
