Tyson defined those fighters back then. Anybody who beat Tyson automatically crafted themselves into boxing history. He also beat Berbick, TNT and a couple other good fighters around those times. Tyson was fucking ferocious in that ring.

And i can't stand Edwin Valero for what he did to his wife

Don't get caught up in the KOs. He KOd bums. Then proceeded to get KOd multiple times himself. It's easy to be ferocious against tomato cans. Put Manny/Floyd/Marquez/Donaire/etc. up against a newcomer/low level opposition and they will be blasting them left and right and you'll think they were amazing too.

Well Tyson isn't a saint himself. Raped a woman. Both are faulty of crimes. I wouldn't want to be friends with either but we're talking about inside the ring. Not outside.

Mayweather, Pacquaio, Marquez and Donaire KO'd bums aswell so why only go in on Mike Tyson? Everybody on the face of this planet knows that Tyson had power and was capable of Knocking any one out.

If Mike Tyson would've beat Holyfield and Lewis, i bet you wouldn't consider them as good fighters. You would just try to list tgem as "bums" that Tyson easily beat. This is what it seems like you're trying to get at

You have to stop thinking this way. This logic only measures a quality fighter by seeing if they csn beat Tyson or not while completely discreditting Tyson.

Please, that Tyson hype WAS REAL! Anybody who got in the ring with him in those times would tell you that.

They did the same thing with Roy Jones. They basically used the logic of " The only good fighters Roy Jones fought were the people who beat him"

..Stop it

And Tyson isn't a saint but he did not do what Valero did to his wife

And Valero Knocked out bums.  Antonio Demarco was the best fighter he fought.

Yes, Donaire, Marquez, Pac, and Floyd have KO'd bums in the beginning of their careers but they stepped up in class and beat, KOd hall of famers/extremely high level competition. Any knowledgable boxing fan that watches ALL boxing will tell you Tyson was highly overrated and not great nor anywhere near great.

Yes, Tyson had power against Low Tier opposition. Quit acting like the guys he beat were P4P fighters cause they weren't. They were shit.

No. If Tyson had beat Lewis and Holyfield, he'd deserve to be pretty high up on the list in terms of ranking as a heavyweight but he didn't. Any knowledgable boxing fan doesn't consider Lewis nor Holyfield bums. Not trying to get at anything other than the fact that everytime Tyson stepped up to fight the best, he got KOd everytime. Hell, he got KOd by a fellow bum.

You sound like this guy I know. Only knows Tyson and considerst Tyson the greatest. Let go of the nostalgia and look at the accomplishments. Pretty crappy.

Jones was good. He beat good opponents such as Hopkins, Toney, Ruiz. But once he got caught, it was over. He didn't live up to the P4P legendary status.

Tyson has also ranted/discussed his desire to kill, his dissapointment at not killing a fellow boxer, and how certain things keep him from killing someone. Pretty freaking psycho.

Besides, stop talking about their personal lives. We are talking about boxing in the ring, Not outside.

Yes, Tyson was a bum. His accomplishments are pretty poor. His record is shit and his resume is pretty shit. If you can't see that I don't know how else I can convince you except pull out his actual resume and highlight how poor and ill equipped his opponents were along with all the KOs he has against him.

Any mexican boxing fan around here?

what do you think about Canelos performance against Floyd?

Canelo was terrible in that fight! Everybody knew he was going to lose, but that can't even be called a fight,Floyd was just toying with him and Canelo had a terrible strategy trying to counter Floyd. It was just painful to watch him, but at least I think he has been improving a bit. Has the potential but still far from being a great boxer.

About Pacman vs Marquez last fight, that was NOT a lucky punch. That was the result of hours and hours of training, he even throw the same punch in previous rounds but didn't connect him. Yes, I think Pacquiao was winning and if the fight had gone one or two more rounds maybe he could had won, but lucky punch it was not.

And also you have to consider that Marquez changed his strategy for this fight, after the polemic decision of the third fight he knew the only way judges would give him the victory was by knocking out Pac, so he went all in for that knowing he'd be receiving a lot of punches too.

Lewis didn't NEED the Tyson fight to solidify his legacy. Are you serious? He beat Morrison, Mercer, Golotta, Holyfield, Tua, Tyson, and Klitschko. Remove the Tyson win and you still have a hell of a resume.

When I look at/think of Lewis's fight that truly showed how great he was, it was his fights with Holyfield and his stoppage of Kiltchko even though he was at the end of his career and Kilthcko was in his prime. Not "MIKE MOTHERFUCKING GET KNOCKED THE FUCK OUT 5 TIMES TYSON".

With Holyfield it was, Douglas, Holmes, Foreman, Moorer, Mercer, Tyson, Ruiz, etc. Without the Tyson fights he still has a great legacy unlike "MIKE MOTHERFUCKING GET KNOCKED THE FUCK OUT 5 TIMES TYSON".

And overrated he was. That is what his accomplishments and legacy have left him. The most overrated boxer of all time.
