Almost but not quite. It took me a while to understand why the numbers didn't match between this thread and the article but I figured out that the article has aligned global numbers which means PS4's Japan launch numbers are included in month 1 of the PS4 while the numbers in this thread compare  Week 1 to Week 1, W2 to W2 etc...

Disregard previous comment as it makes no sense.

I did some more digging and the article uses these numbers :

For Wii, Launch (November 19th, 2006)  to Week of March 31st: 5,838,056

For PS4, Launch (November 15th, 2013) to Week of April 5th: 6,894,071

Not sure I agree with the choice of data since the data for the PS4 total has 9 extra days (4 at the start, 5 at the end).

Close to a 100k deficit for the PS4 this week. Next week should be even larger with Wii at 298k.

This is just showing what a behemoth Wii was in those early days.

PS4 is still doing very well sustaining its sales, hopefully it'll keep a steady big sales pace.

The PS4 is doing remarkably well considering it doesn't have the casual appeal the Wii had.

With this week's numbers PS4's lead shunk another 170k. Wii might pull ahead in 3 weeks.

Ps4 will outsell the wii. Better console and it'll have better games. Crazy to think sony will have the top 3 selling home consoles of all time in a few years

Wii would be ahead if it were in stock at this period in time.

Seriously, that thing was a cultural phenomenon.

Wiis gonna win but since it tanked after its 4th year, thats where PS4 will win, in the long game.

What is wii going to win? Why are people still stuck in the last generation? That's like comparing ps1 sells to ps2 or ps2 sales to wii. What are you trying to hold on to? Just a curious question
