pretty sure he was being sarcastic, if you are going to do that, you have to be right. Pikmin is not the only strategy game on consoles, not even close. Halo wars for 360, Ruse for PS3 and thats just two off the top of my head.

Thanks for correcting me. It's still an uncommon style of game on consoles, which is the relevant point here.

And I am not the Bible, I am not always right or speak the absolute truth, but I still do reserve the right to be sarcastic.

fair enough, and im all for sarcasm. but you are right it is uncommon, probably for a good reason.

I suppose apologies are in order. After actually reading your post it was pretty noticable, but with that opening I didn't bother to read further at first. There are way to many people that actually agree with it, and it isn't impossible for that opening to make sense for some.

Anyways, I would say it's better to start off a bit slower than you did.

Since I was conned into clicking on this curiously titled thread only to be treated to a banal and boring piece of work, I decided I might as well take its premise seriously.

To that end, yes, I think Nintendo games do suffer from a lack of originality. Not a lack of original content, but original experiences. I get pretty much the same "nutritional content" from playing modern Nintendo games as I do from games made 10, even 20 years ago; less sometimes, as in Skyward Sword. And while the quality of the experience is often better, but the "taste" is much the same.

Like someone else said in this thread, if this is true, what does it say about the rest of the industry ?

If this is true, then there is a lot more variety in the rest of the industry?
