All those sales and Japan isn't even in the mix. This is going to be an interesting generation for sure :)

The demand for the PS4 is insane. Someone on GAF made a thread that the PS4 was back in stock in Amazon and it sold out in a matter of minutes. In contrast, the XBO took until the next day to run out of stock. Combined with the fact that Playstation systems are famous for their longevity, Sony is going to enjoy themselves a very successful generation.

Honestly have no idea, but do you think theirs no way they could have shifted atleast another 600,000 in the 11 days after launch day? reports are leaning towards they did world wide. so it's all speculation right now. I still think 1.2 in 13 is better then 2.1 in 32, people can spin it however they want, but to down play what MS did in 13. compared to 32. is pretty good in a little over a 1/3 of territories sony released in. People bagged on MS for scaling back their launch to 13 and yet sony got no crap over saying were launching in 32 yet only launched in 2. I have both systems and enjoy both. just hate the blind devotion and hate spewing going on. |
How long has PS4 been in 32 countries?
November 29th.
How long has Xbox One been in 13 countries?
November 22nd.
And you're attempting to compare them equally? Fascinating how your brain operates. The only remotely logical conclusion to be drawn is that the PS4 and the Xbox One sold an equal amount of units within 24 hours of release despite Xbox One being available in far more regions.
i think they mean 3million sold, the 2.1 million is not shipped units, its sold units, here in my country, gameplanet, and blockbuster(major game retaulers) have exausted they ps4 stocks, also liverpool(departamental store) has exausted its ps4 but they got again some on the shelves they were sold out a couple days ago, i dont think we are gonna see some really replenish in stock till second week of december, then the real fight will begin, if nintendo cuts th price of the wii u, then the fight will be on between the 3 consoles
nop, microsoft has begon to sell over 32 country also when the ps4 hitted the shleves of all the other country
I'm trying to find something negative to say. This is how I feel right now:
*goes back playing Wii U*
Hey, you can't play sales right?

This is something that should be fixed with a game ad hoc. Its title could only be "ioi 2: Teh salez"

Sorry but saying 1/3 of territories, as if all territories have equal weight is nonsense spin. |
Those extra countries amount to a little over 250 million cosumers.

And how does that support your argument? You do know that neither Microsoft nor Sony can make "unlimited" amounts of their respective consoles. Let's say that Microsoft released the XBO in the same 32 countries. The XBO will still sell only 1.2 million because of supply constraints. Why? Because less XBO's are distributed to a lot more countries. However, Microsoft did not want to do that because of potentially huge customer disatisfaction.

I'm glad you did that math, now I did some of my own and I'll tell you that the original 13 countries that Xbox One and PS4 are launching in account for 1,029,294,316 customers. Therefore one console sold 1.2 million to 1 billion customers while the other sold 2.1 million to 1.25 billion customers. Now you can start to see how just going by the number of regions as a straight ratio is completely meaningless. One has a ratio of about 1.2 per thousands possible customers (Xbone) while the other has a ratio of about 1.68 per thousand possible customers (PS4). This isn't a partisan thing, it's just a math thing.
