Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Gamestop dates Super Smash for April 8th?

^Along with that, if Pikmin released earlier during the drought that would have probably not helped at all lol.

Around the Network

According to GameTillYouDrop, GameStop has an Available Sku” listed both the Wii U and 3DS releasing on the same date in April. While the available SKU is not listed as Smash of course, that is the only game we know of right now coming out for both Wii U and 3DS in 2014. Considering the fact that Mario Kart 8 is set to release in Spring 2014, we can assume that Smash 4 could possibly release around that time as well considering the fact that both of those games started development around the same time (near the beginning of 2012). Not to mention that this time around Sakurai will not be making a full-fledged story mode this time around and he also has Namco helping him develop the game.

I just think it'd be better to space out their releases more. There is already MK8 for Spring so I would put SSB4 in Summer.

Their current "confirmed" 2014 lineup is what, Mario Kart, Smash, Tropical Freeze, X, Bayonetta 2, and Yarn Yoshi, yeah?
That's one every two months if spread evenly throughout the year.

That said, I expect at least one of the last 3 to be delayed to 2015.

If Smash Bros. does come out in April, I wonder if Mario Kart 8 could be a big summer release.

Feb - DKC: Tropical Freeze

April - Smash Bros. 4

June - Mario Kart 8

August - Bayonetta 2

October - X

December - Yoshi Yarn

That is, if the big VGX announcement next weeks ends up being Zelda, which would be a holiday 2014 release this could really get interesting, and something, (I'm betting X or Yoshi) gets pushed to 2015.
