The Best Buy I work at ordered way too many consoles lol we've been sitting on like 15+ Mario Wii U's since they were released. We actually have more stock of Wii U than any other console. But honestly whoever orders stock for my store is retarded. We will get way to many copies of a game like Remember Me but then a popular game comes out Batman we get hardly any copies.

Same here.  We ordered a LOT of the Zelda systems which haven't been selling.  On the other hand, we had less of the Mario Bundles, which have been selling at a rather quick pace.  We also still have some Nintendo Land bundles which had been selling OK, but once the Mario and Lugi came out, have understandably stopped moving.

Keep in mind, there is usually nobody ordering games.  The system is largely automated or determined at the district level rather than the store level, and a lot of it is based on volume of sales, preorders,  availability, and so forth.  Sales support managers have some say over inventory, but usually not that much to my understanding.  If you got 15 Mario Wii Us that didn't sell, and you have more Wii Us in stock than other consoles, then you're likely in a lower volume store.  So, when dealing with a game like Batman which is expected to sell a lot, it might be worthwhile to focus the distribution on other stores.  When a game like Remember Me comes out and sell outs are likely not going to be an issue,  Of course, that's just my best guess.  It could also just be someone at some job down the line is an idiot, which is definitely a very distinct possibility.

But the long and short of this whole thing is that judging the Wii U's retail relationship by one EB Games or Best Buy or whatever is silly.

Thought about this and you're right so I did a little investigating. Looks like the bundle is on the second page of bestsellers for gamestop.com and appears to be sold out at target.com. It's on the first page of bestsellers at walmart.com & bestbuy.com. That's a pretty good sample so I think it could do fine (at least in NA) this Christmas. Assuming of course that demand in online stores is representative of overall demand.

it's looking good then. Just need all those games to be it before the Wii U becomes a hot item

Anecdotally my two local Best Buys ordered a lot of the Zelda bundle and only 4-5 of the NSMBU bundle.

The Zelda bundle isn't moving much but the NSMBU one has sold a couple at each location.

I think maybe Nintendo should've include that Ganon figurine with the Wii U bundle or made the system gold or something. It need something more than the simple decal on the controller to make it a bit more special.

That said honestly Wind Waker just isn't that popular of a Zelda title, it certainly has its fans, but I think especially in North America, people like their 3D Zelda to be more realistic in the vein of the OoT and TP and there's just no changing that.

I'm not surprised. After all, if the system isn't selling, why stock it?

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Hey guys, my first ever thread :)

I went to my local EB Games today to buy Rayman Legends and commented on the Wii U Mario & Luigi bundle they have. The guy behind the counter said that they only ordered 3 Mario & Luigi bundles and sold them all on day one. He said they were shocked that they sold so fast and so are ordering more but probably won't be able to order enough as their back room will be full of PS4s and Xbox Ones shortly.

Damn, is the confidence in Nintendo that low in retail?

Hey just checked Gamestop website and the bundle is sold out again! Unless there's a big hardware boost next week I'd say retailers just aren't ordering many in.

This is the reality Nintendo made for itself. I get that it wanted to sell as many independent copies of the game as possible, but this bundle should've been a reality a long time ago, and the basic model should've never existed.

This reality was made by the media absolutely FANBOYING Nintendo and dragging them through the mud every chance that they got...

i think come black friday retailers better be ready for a blitz on wii u hardware. i mean like myself black friday is massive buying and if you know anything about families they wait till that day to get deals and what not all at once. plus if the ps4 and xbox one isnt around to be sold the next thing is the wii u and that is a huge advantage

dick cheney loves me, he wants to take me hunting

Its Wii U in general not just the console.

Games are limited everywhere and I went to buy the Wii Fit U Meter and its non-existent in stores. Even Toys R Us where Nintendo said it should be.

I had to buy online from Amazon.
