Yep I just read that article. Disappointing, especially the irregular sub-30 framerate. Because now we know most XOne games won't be FullHD. But 20fps at times?

But a least the game looks fun and there are a lot of Zombies on screen. I guess.

I prefer to have a lot of zombies on screen than a better res. Gameplay over graphics !

Yeah, that's definitely a big reason but anyway it's bad. Perhaps they fix this with a few updates.

The game looks good in videos (in pictures the oversharpening is quite distracting at 720/1080 resolutions) and I hope gameplay won't be impaired too much by some framerate drops, unlike what I experienced with the framerate drops in Bayonetta PS3 for example (those were pretty frustrating).

Sub 30fps, no thank you. Was really looking forward to this game, but now it's just a rental.

lol I see comments before like LOOK AT HOW MANY ZOMBIES 20 fps not accept with MILLIONS of zombies. weak box or weak dev your call.

DF went to a full damage control to please the "resolutionists".

It´s amazing that the GOTY so far, GTA-V, has terrible stream issues, none AA, atroxious loading times, however a much more mature developer with 6 games and 8 years of experience with the current hardware could do.

Of course this game is not a visual benchmark. It´s a open world sandbox for a new console. Look at Dead Rising 1, it was terrible, Dead Rising 2 was a reasonable improviment, but noting visually compeling.

Of course it was rushed. DR3 will get a TON of patchs and fixes.

I don´t think fans of the series would be concerned

Their job is to fully break things down to resolution, frame rates, texture streaming, etc...

GTA also came out on 8 year old hardware.

They can't just ignore the frame rate issues and other issues because some day a patch might come along and possibly make things better.

You're the one actually doing damage control.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

16fps minimum?

I played it but of course like I stated in any moment I had a horde of zumbies like the videos showed... so for me it was running stable at ~25-30fps.

The visual is really PS360 level except the cutscenes.

Funny because VGC said to me that prefer a drop in resolution over framerate... so what now? 480p to 30fps?

Weak hardware... terrible.

It doesn't exactly look next gen visually, that's true, but I think that's kind of expected in this case for the reasons mentioned by others. With this kind of game, especially, the visuals don't have a lot to do with how much fun it is to play.

I'm sorry, but this is getting worse every day. I know it's the beginning of the gen, the devs are not yet accustomed to the machines and there are tight deadlines. I just see no point in buying a machine (for 500$) that does little more than a machine I already have. I sincerely hope those issues will be overcome in later games.

This, I stole from grandpa...It's called soap.
