Hey this is a weird one, I had been waiting to make my 1000th post about stuff I do as a gamer and kinda introduce myself properly since I had been on here for quite a while, however a ton of Real life stuff have stopped me being able to sit back and write such a post and put it together so I just been reading here far more than I've been posting.... well I didn't post at all.

But I been gaming away as you do, ran into some issues the other day with accepting the terms and conditions on the xbox360. I think it was just the service being Semi down and yeah it was causing a fair few people issues it seems, so I went over to the xbox.com site and checked their forums, found some bits of info out and seen some people complaining that they had read through the terms and that it was a bit odd some of the things which had changed.this drew an absolute ton of responses in the lines of "hey if you don't like the terms and conditions you can just fuck off then" Which I normally can't stand to see when it's in response to people with genuine concerns of a service they're paying for. So I made a reply on there, said that it was pretty much a terrible time to be telling people to go away from their service when the ps4 launches within 2 weeks and yeah jokingly said "xbox720 ftw"

Sat down to check my emails just now -

"Xbox LIVE

Notification of Temporary Suspension: Inappropriate content in your profile."

Given that I mostly just play single player games with the exception of Street fighter 4 I found it very odd to have any email to do with my account there, moreso because as that's the only xboxlive game I would find myself in and I've not played online in it in over a month.

but yeah reason given for the ban is

"This email is to notify you that your Xbox LIVE account privileges have been temporarily suspended due to inappropriate content in the profile for your gamertag. The inappropriate content was discovered in the Motto, Bio, Location, Name and/or Personal Picture"

motto was - "C to shiny C fuck yeah finally got it, I still don't accept player invites from french players, sorry"

that motto was set around 12 months ago when I finished that Shiny C achievement from SF4 putting me at 1k achievement points in that game and the thing regarding french gamers is I had nothing but bad experiences with french players on live so I just stopped playing them wasn't worth the hassle and considering I turned down invites to join games and removed them from player matchs I found it easier to put it on my motto than get large blocks of french text with angry smileys in it regarding why I'd remove french people from rooms I created.

But yeah I mean given that like I said I've not done anything on the account let alone anything that would warrent a ban just be very careful if you are going to the xbox.com forums because I've no doubt in the world that the action on the account has nothing to do with the account itself but moreso mentioning the PS4 in a post on there.

I can't access any part of my profile until tomorrow when the ban is lifted but the parts of the email which are most worrying is

- Customer Support is not able to modify or provide any further details about your suspension.

- Your failure to abide by the Code of Conduct in the future may result in, among other things, longer suspension periods or cancellation of your account.

So as it stands I don't know what I done wrong and if I do it wrong again I'll risk a longer ban or having my live account canned.

Just if you are wanting to make any comments regarding the new terms and conditions on the xbox.com site or if you were even considering mentioning being unhappy with the service. Dont. Or if you really feel like you want to, don't do it on your gold account because from what I can tell, it's bannable to not be happy with the service.

I will update this tomorrow when I give their customer support crowd a ring to see if they can at least give a hint as to what was done wrong on the account otherwise I'm just in the dark completely about it.

Update - Yeah.... don't have the word fuck anywhere on your profile or shit/shite btw (I asked) will Guarentee a 24 hour ban when the remove it from your Motto

regardless of how long it's been on your profile btw like someone else said here in the thread it'll go unnoticed until you do something in a game or on the xbox.com forums which ticks someone off and they'll report you and the MS moderator has to issue the account with the same blanket ban regardless of how the word is used. Play it safe, don't have profanity of any kind in your MS profile.

Anyway that isn't good, getting your Xbox live account banned because of something you wrote on a forum seems weird. I hope that it isn't the case, if so that's bullshit. At least the ban was short right?

How long are you banned?  This is pretty messed up if your paying for the online and the ban is completely unjustified. 

yeah it's just a 24 hour ban so it means I wont be able to sit down and watch videos on youtube tomorrow night while having dinner since I don't actually have any TV service just my gold account for that hooked up to the TV, I can bring my ps3 downstairs from it's happy spot next to the PC but still, it's an inconvience which I really have no good reason for having been placed on me.

it expires on the 5th but like I said I have no idea why I was banned or if I will need to change my gamer tag after it from Stormcloudlive which is what I use in both psn and xboxlive so it would be a pain in the ass if I had to change that.

chat on nintendo systems? last I heard my Nintendo letter box service was shut down. I sent an angry email to Nintendo about that already so now Hotmail will probably get taken down too since someone used it to send mature words to someone else....

I agree with you! Specially since your posts in a forum shouldn't have any effect with your Xbox live account. I hope you can get an answer from them and see what the ban was truly for!

Sorry I meant d21lewis. He was banned multiple times on Wii u right when it came out.
