We don't know what happened to the Treyarch Wii U porting team. They brought Nuketown 2025 to BO2, so not everyone was fired after the last Ghosts patch.
Maybe the team said that their usual 9-10 month cycle to port a game to Wii U wasn't enough (shoddy ports, no DLC) and they bring the next Treyarch CoD to Wii U with a longer development time. That would also mean that there weren't enough resources to bring Advanced Warfare to Wii U and Activision didn't want to hire another team to port the game. And the Wii U install base will be several times higher in Nov 2015 compared to Nov 2013 when Ghosts came out.
Just some speculations, but be sure that AW is not coming.

That's a good theory. A lot better than some other ones we read here every once in a while.
But with 3 dev teams behind CoD, wouldn't it be odd to have 1 CoD game every 3 years, skipping releases?

Advanced Warfare was made by Sledgehammer & High Moon and the Treyarch Wii U team has never worked with them before. Maybe they weren't able to handle the port with their small team and Activision wasn't willing to hire more people for a Wii U version because of the sales of Ghosts. But that doesn't mean that they can't handle a port of CoD 2015 (from Treyarch) with longer develoment time. The success of CoD 2015 on Wii U would determine if Activision gives more resources to future Wii U ports.
But who knows... Maybe they're all fired or work on other versions. It's a mystery to me why we don't know what happened. The only information is that Activision decided to not bring Advanced Warfare to the Wii U.

Well, I don't know if these ports to WiiU are harder to make than the ports to Wii so I can't comment if the problem is not having enough dev time or simply not caring to make the port.
We'll see if next year's CoD, developed by Treyarch as you say, will have a WiiU port or not.
Please excuse my bad English.
