Destiny has my vote. The makers of Halo versus EA, hmmm tough one!

I think a part of the reason why Call of Duty became so popular this past generation was because the franchise began utilizing a modern setting, so I'm not sure if all of the popularity will translate to Titanfall's futuristic setting.  Destiny, on the other hand, has the potential to attract Halo fans, people who never got the chance to play Halo (i.e., non-Xbox gamers), and possibly RPG/MMO fans.

Furthermore, Respawn is restricting its potential userbase to three platforms (lower than CoD's user base because of the lack of Sony support), while Bungie is expanding its base by not limiting themselves to the Xbox brand anymore.

With that said, I agree that Titanfall will draw its share of CoD/Respawn fans, although I think many other CoD fans will still stick with modern setting shooters.

If TitanFall was coming out on PS3 and PS4 then I'd go with TitanFall but Destiny has X1, 360, PS3, PS4, PC so I think I'll side with Destiny for now.

I think Titanfall definitely has the greater hype right now so will possibly launch out of the gates faster, but for me Destiny does look cooler and I think with the greater platform support will eventually overtake Titanfall as a game/franchise. I see Titanfall doing Gears of War number though, it'll still be really successful.

Both will be huge. I also don't really get people here saying these games are overhyped. You can't make that claim until you've actually played it.

Anyway, I'm super excited about both. Can't wait to my hands on em. If I had to choose, I'd say I'm probably a bit more excited for Destiny. It's a bit more sci-fi heavy, and I just love Bungie games. As far as success goes...it's really hard to say. I know more people amped for Titanfall, but it's really anyone's guess at this point.

This is what I'm interested to see.  Many CoD fans aren't traditional video-game fans.  I think it would be a mistake to assume that they'd pull off their military shooters en masse for a science fiction based shooter.  I know men who hunt, work, watch NASCAR, and play CoD, with very in between that doesn't involve Wild Turkey.  In their world, military shooters are acceptable, though anything futuristic might start to edge over into the domain of nerds and geeks.  This is a demographic that will likely pass on Titanfall and I think there might be others.  I'm not saying that it won't be big, just that I don't think it will be close to CoD level.

Destiny has a huge amount of potential, especially PC.  If the world has as much depth as they're saying, it could be immense.  However, a lot of these types of MMO games fail on the end-game.  People get to the "end" and it stops being fun.  Destiny has a massive range to fail or succeed.  I simply can't judge knowing this little about it.

IMO they are both a little overhyped. Some have called Destiny a Halo/Borderlands mash up.... Titanfall is really only being hyped because its exclusive. Lets be honest, if it were multiplatform it wouldnt be getting nearly as much hype as it is. It's basically COD with mechs, and no single player or co-op.

I know its crazy, but a lot of people actually play COD's campaigns. They were also critical in creating hype and "controversy" for COD, with edgy chapters that had an option to be skipped by players, and Michael Bay set pieces.

Not having single player is going to hurt Titanfall a little bit.

I think it's the exact opposite. Despite being on the platform the majority of hardcore gamers hate, Titanfall has been sweeping nearly every single Game of the show award in terms of critics choice and audience choice. Titanfall is probably one of the only thing keeping xbox one relevent among that audience. If anything the massive hype would be much bigger if it was actually on the console that is getting massively hyped, the ps4.

I still think Destiny should still beat it out. It seems very likely that ps4 will win the initial launch period and Bungie made a smart choice by focusing advertising on ps4. The big halo fans that get an xbox one will get the game regardless. It is the sony fans that have never picked up a halo game that will have to be won over.

Even if Titanfall reaches absolutely massive levels of sale, being on less platform will always hurt major blockbusters. If we look at the 10 best selling games combined sales on the HD twins. All 10 of them are multiplatform. Halo and Gran Turismo don't appear once. Heck even if we exclude Call of Duty and Grand Theft Auto we still have Battlefield, Red Dead Redemption, and a bunch of Fifas and Assassin's Creeds dominating the list.

I have to agree.  I have friends and family in either the military or law enforcement, and many of them prefer to play the modern setting military shooters (recent CoD or Battlefield games), rather than sci-fi ones.  In fact, a few of them only play Call of Duty, and have consoles specifically for that game alone.  Of course, I admit that it is only anecdotal evidence.  Nevertheless, I too am curious about how much Titanfall will draw from the Call of Duty fanbase.
