Forums - Gaming Discussion - Square Enix Forms a Committee to Oversee Final Fantasy

- "Hey guys, we know you totally screwed up the Final Fantasy franchise, but I have an important job for you all."

- "What is that?"

- "We want to put you all together and have you all figure out how to to maintain quality in the Final Fantasy series."

S-E is more clueless than I thought. I could have sworn they said they wanted to start listening to their fanbase more.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

The only thing I see in this committee is no change at all.

Wasn't Kitase the scenario writer for FF6? If so, that's what he should do instead of direct.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

Conservatives:  Pushing for a small enough government to be a guest in your living room, or even better - your uterus.

I hope that commitee doesn't affect the development of FFXV

I think it's too late.

The promise of FFXIII was what made me get a PS3 at launch. I was disappointed with XIII. I was even more disappointed with XIII-2. I have pretty much given up on the series, and I don't plan on getting Lightning Returns (maybe if I find it in a $10 bargain bin).

They need to plan as if the next game will really be the final Final Fantasy (much like they did with the very first one).

Toriyama will make sure Lightning is included in every game from here on out.

It shall be glorious.

I don't see how this is going to work. Are they basically going to have more managers bickering over the direction of a game... that was why FFXIII was in development hell for so long.

Hmm, so these guys weren't paying attention in the first place. That explains a lot.
This is more sad news from SE...

I haven't enjoyed the franchise since FF11, and I hated FF9 as well. Essentially, Final Fantasy X has really been the only worthy title since 1999.

Last I enjoyed was FFXII, before that it was FFIX, and before that it was FFVII.
