the dump move was to delay it on wii U
zumbi U would never sell 500k if released now in september.
the big wii U momuntum was the beggining of the year: the gamepad novelty, no concorrence(intern and extern). some titles take advantage of this: zumbi U, lego city, sonic racing tranformed.
Ubisoft could release wii U version in feburary. it would sell easily more than 100k.
And then, in september, release the ps3 and x360 version.

The problem is Microsoft don't allow that. If a  game released previously on another console, then it can't release on a  microsoft console. That's why they had to push rayman on WiiU back to september

If I recall properly 3DS sales did not rise like crazy just because of Ocarina Of Time Bundle and retail copy. So we have to wait to see how that goes...

The sale price was only in effect for 2 days, so you're not going to see much of a change.  You might see like... I dunno, 3 or 4 thousand extra sold in an ideal scenario.  Next week should see more of a difference, but still nothing crazy.  Nintendo's marketing has so far been targeted towards hardcore gamers (I've seen that Zelda add so many time), but they haven't really delivered the message to the masses.  They need to do that to see a huge spike.  They'll soon have the software to do that (Wii Party U, Wii Fit U, Wii Sports Club), so time will tell if they can do it effectively.

An extra 3-4k would be a pretty dreadful result.  Even if it suffered little to no drops next week, we would probably see less than 20k.  Out of 165 people, 88.5% were expecting over 20k for this week (with only two days).  I mean there is a colossal difference between 3-4k, and a huge spike that needs support from the masses.  The hardcore alone ought to facilitate more of a spike than a few thousand.

People can expect whatever they want, but expecting Wii U sales to double over 2 days is kind of silly in my estimation.  It would probably hit that with a full week, but not with two days of sales.  Systems don't sell without big games.  A price cut is nice, but look at the Vita and what that price cut did.  A price cut without software is meaningless.  You need a price cut + marketing + games.  The Wii U has the price cut, the games are coming, and now it's just a matter of marketing.  I think the Wii U will sell well in the long run, but if you're expecting a huge boost this week, than prepare to eat some crow.  Of course if I'm wrong, I'll gladly do the same.

Man that's impressive. I wonder how big of a hardware boost we'll see?

I imagine a fairly significant boost for the PS3.

I expect 300k boost for both at least

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

I'll just focus on the fact that the Wii U version of Rayman Legends is the only version that's still in the charts. You made a mistake Ubisoft and your Smash Bros. spot for Rayman has been revoked.

63k on wii U

54k on ps3

50k on 360

what a dumb move really, they'ed be happier with just the 63k

yep coz by now the WiiU version wouldnt have surpassed that had it released in Feb when we had nothing to play on WiiU. Instead they wait until we have a heap of 1st party games and release it then. And they still could have had a PS3 version, it was MS policies that stopped the early WiiU release

A heap of 1st party games? They certainly aren't stealing sales away right now. The userbase is now bigger and the release was almost coupled with a price cut. See, both points of view can look right.

Yes, theres Mario, DK, Zelda, Pikmin, Wii Fit, Wii Sports, Wii Party, W101 (kinda). And while some are unreleased that dosent stop people from not buying other games waiting for them. People do have budgets. And Ubi could easily have continued selling the game now with the larger install base and the price cut, its not like they cant ship more copies. IMO it was a poor choice, but thats just my opinion not fact. They could have released a Directors Cut version later on PS360 if they wanted, put the extras as DLC on WiiU

Considering even nintendo family friendly titles without Mario are having trouble cracking 1mil, it looks like Ubisoft made the right call. Rayman Origins sold over 2mil, and the wii made up the smallest chunk of the console sales. When Ubisoft originally announced it as exclusive they probably didn't expect the wii u to perform as awfully as it did so far this year.  Their heavy wii u support didn't end up helping Ubisoft much as all it's wii u ports crashed and burned, and zombieU was not profitable. Really can't blame them for trying to prevent another game from being unprofitable.

thats cool here i was thinking you had access to some alternate dimension where they did release in Feb and you were sure that it would have had better sales.

and FYI if they did some special edition of Rayman for PS360 you could bet your ass their would be people whining even harder than they are now.

I've already talked about GTA, so...

W101 disappoints, as expected with launching this week. Hopefully the strong upcoming library will turn things around.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

how blind can you be to not see they are getting 2/3 of their sales on the two other platform? what ever it would have done Ltd on the wii U add 2/3 of that and that's what it will do now that's it's a multiplat. how dumb of Ubisoft to want more money. They should do like they did with zombie U and lose money so the wii U fans can be happy right?

Except that they dumped seven more months of development time into it. Seven more months of develoment costs and salary. Seven months in which Ancels team could have worked on another project (Hello BG&E2 and goodbye). Seven months the game could have been on the market by now, releasing in a better situation on a platform that didn't have a significant release in months. Not to mention that they alienated a bunch of people with how they timed and handled the whole multiplatform/delay situation.

It's a shame that your school knowledge of subtraction and addition isn't quite enough to accurately display interactions between events in the real world.
