Forums - Gaming Discussion - Final Fantasy XV will have more dynamic playable action, fewer flashy cutscenes

The massively silly over the top cut-scenes are great, but you have to say these days they have diminishing returns

With the kind of art style that FF has, I don't think it will add the much anymore unlike games with a more anime style

i love my cut scene and hope they stay without me havin to do anything! wat he is sayin techincal is they are goin to alot of QTE and that sucks

As long as there's lots of story, I guess it's all right.

Boooooo! Flashy cutscenes rule.

Its still gonna be flashy lol, your just gonna be playing it instead of just watching it.

The problem is, that E3 2013 trailer gameplay doesn't hold a candle to this.

I like the flashy cut scenes, but I'm ok with less of them.

It doesn't make much sense to produce cgi these days. Just look at God of War 3, Uncharted 3, Heavy Rain and The Last of Us.

i was disappointed with FF13-2 cause it only had like 10 minutes of CGI cutscenes...

Kingdom Hearts has pretty much always been like this, so I'm not surprised. Also, it's a good idea to do to cut on spending.

As much as I love CGI cut-scenes, I prefer when they do them in-engine, and preferably real-time.

I think it's more impressive when they manage to make spectacular cut-scenes using real-time rendering, compared to CGI stuff. And it makes the game more visually consistent.

This is good news for ffXV because next gen consoles look powerful enough to do decent cutscenes plus this seriously cuts down the costs.
