I made a prediction a while ago. 10M total sales for wii u by the end of 2013. but I leave a 1M margin of error.

10 million? um the Wii U would have to average ~250k/week from July 1 to December 31 to reach that number, we are almost at september and i dont think the Wii U has sold 250K in that time frame.

I keep hearing this "it has to average x units". it will sell great during the holydays and sell well before it. what's the point of pointing the average number?

Because with each passing week, the weekly amount needed to sell to achieve 10 million gets bigger.  Currently it stands at ~341k and going higher.

No. I believe WiiU will start selling much more after the big first-party games are released, and that PS4 will have a big drop in sales after the first month, like every current gen system released.

Which big Nintendo first party titles are you talking about?  Mario and Sonic winter olympics, Donkey Kong Country TF, Mario 3DW, Wii Fit and Zelda STILL do not have concrete release dates in the US, so you are going to have to ride on the backs of W101 and Sonic (which will do better on the 3DS). If the PS4 is releasing in late october, its first month is going to be black friday and its second month christmas, really dude?

I think the new InFamous will stop that curse from occuring after bolstering sales from Feburary through march. The two biggest games of the launch are KZ:SF with third party titles and soon after in February comes InFamous: Second Son with even more third party behind it. Sony will have a much healthier launch and first year than Nintendo. This is probably the strongest launch Sony has ever had in the history of the Playstation brand. If they announce anymore launch or first year games it will only pose more of a threat for the competition. Luckily for all of us as gamers we're getting lots of games. I feel bad for gamers who got swindled out of games because of MS moneyhatting again with Titan Fall and DR3 (even though DR3 isn't that great a franchise but its fun)

I think you overestimate the amount of people willing to blow $500(system+game+tax, ect) plus on any console when there are perfectly good PS3 and XBOX games still coming out.



Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

Yeah and most of those are multiplats (especially in the case of the Xbox 360). Out of Sony and Microsoft owners, 360 owners have more reason to switch than Sony owners. Nintendo owners got their reason to switch in 2012 after Nintendo dropped Wii support.

Lucky. The PS4 and XBONE would have to flop right out of the gate to make that even possible. Combined with a price cut of $100 and it's still unlikely though.

ps4 and xone can do whatever they want this holidays, it won't affect wii u sales. and it's funny that you think wii u needs a 199 price but two machines with less games will do ok at 399 and 499.
