How would you like to see Xbox use SmartGlass?

What and how would you like to see SmartGlass used?  SmartGlass is a free app for your Windows Phone, Android or Ipad device.  It connects with the Xbox Live system and allows you to control your Xbox from it (both the X360 and the New Xbox One).  You can get it and learn more here:  http://www.xbox.com/en-US/smartglass

Currently, it does things like show you maps and teach you things about 'Game of Thrones' if you watch that on HBO Go ap, allow you to mix a playlist in Dance Central 3, and allow you to control your dashboard, for things such as searching for movies, music, TV, etc.

Say, after we finish a game (so as not to get any spoilers) I would like to be able to see a map of where we were with options of toggling what we found, enemies, battle areas, stuff like that.

I am replaying Alan Wake, looking for missing stuff (like Hidden Chest and Coffee Thermoses, etc.)  It would be nice to see how the place looks ‘from the air’ like google or bing maps.  I could also look to see where things were missing.

Or, also in Alan Wake, be able to read all the missing pages like a book – or since they all have voice overs, have it read it as an audio book.  So I could listen as I do work or travel somewhere. I would also like to be able to look over the maps of the Halo games (once I have played so as to not ruin any surprises.)

Or in Skyrim – have all the books that I unlock also readable on SmartGlass.  There are so many books and stories in the game, but I don’t really want to read them all when I am playing.

How about going through our Skyrim inventory on SmartGlass too?  Check out or best armor builds? Talent trees, those sort of things.

Or another, is have it should replace the little booklets that come with games.  Sometimes useful information and back stories are contained within those.  As we move into the digital game age, why not have all that information on the SmartGlass app?

Those are some of my ideas, what are yours?

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

I really see it being used by kids, mainly because their parents would want to give them something to do while they play a single-player game. Or they're playing a multiplayer match but don't want to leave the match because their kids come in saying "I want to play  __!".

I really like the idea of it being used as a mapping tool, or maybe have your inventory easily accesible through smartglass. Also, using it in games lika Project Spark to create Worlds would be awesome (but I Think that is a feature that all ready exist?).

One thing I would like, would be the possibility of remote play via Smartglass to any device of your choice, basically meaning that smartglass mirrors the X1:s interface, then I could use it to play games on my computer, tablet or phone. That would expand the usefullness of X1 and make the games more attractive on the plattform.

That's a really good ideas.  There are just so many times you can give them an unplugged controller before they figure it out.

But then wouldn't that just be a tablet game?  Or are they part of the game too?

Yes, I think at least part of Project Spark can or is played on a tablet.  But it seems to be designed that way.

I would they add remote play.  It would be great, but I have no idea if they are planning this or not.  It might require a Wifi N or something, but those are really common now.

Just prop up your tablet, grab your controller, and play away.

i love the remote play idea as thats something i like doing already. I was extremely hyped-up over smartglass initially. Very few of my expectations were met however. So what i'd like in a revision is just that it meet my original expectations.

All OS functions and Apps be intuitively controllable through smartglass. You know? I think that be enough for me.

And the cool thing would also be that you could play all your X1 games on both W8, Android or IOS tablets :).

Let me watch my friend's recorded footage on the go.

General Use:
1- I want to use it as a keyboard or as a mouse pad. I hate to write the codes navigating through the screen keyboard using the analog sticks. It will also help in a lot of games, like strategy games, and in features like chatting with friends and searching for games or movies.
2- I want to use it as main screen if I don't have any TV near me for whatever reason.

In Game Ideas:
1- Sometimes in Uncharted I have to stop the game every two minutes and open the notebook to see what I'm looking for or to get hints on how to solve the puzzle. It would be cool to have the note opened in you tablet/phone while you are playing the game.
2- Although I hate this part about the game, but I could use my real Windows Phone instead of the phone in GTA IV. You can enter a cheat while you are driving the car.
3-In playing games that have big open world maps like Skyrim or GTA, It would be better if I have the description of the quest and its location on the map (and my location of course) in front of me in my tablet.
4- Show the detailed stats/results while playing the game, especially online games like Halo or COD.
5- Since I talked about online games, we sould use the smart glass as a second screen to show the full map while we are playing.

As a wii U owner, I really don't see why anyone in their right mind wants to use smartglass while playing the game on the big screen. This is already awkward enough when that screen is right between your hands. Having it propped up on a table will be much worse. Only good use of smartglass at home is menu navigation and text entry. I do that a lot with smartglass 1.0

Outside of the house though, that is when it has potential. Managing the system and games or playing unique parts of games.
