Other Day it was WiiU dead no matter what, and he's done it again!

This really Means......... Vita Saved

Ever one for stirring the pot, Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter loves to make predictions about the future of the games industry. This time, Pachter has shared his thoughts on whether the PS4′s remote play will save the Vita.

Speaking on his show Pach-Attack, he initially said “No, next question”, before continuing:

I think if they made the PS Vita in different colors it wouldn’t sell more. The only thing that’s going to sell more Vitas or compelling software. God, I shudder to tell you how many units of Vita were sold this month, but the answer is ‘not very many’. The Vita is dead, it’s over. It’s a really great device that nobody thinks they need so no one’s buying it – it is really slick, if you get one you will like it.

Do you agree, or are you planning to pick up a PS Vita for that very reason? Let us know your thoughts below.

RP is nice, but not much of a reason to purchase the system. I do play my Vita much more than my PS3 now, so I'll likely use the remote play feature a lot providing the controls are mapped well. But as I said, it is not an essential feature.

Vita needs games ... lots of them and different types of them too.

Playstation = The Beast from the East

Sony + Nintendo = WIN! PS3 + PSV + PS4 + Wii U + 3DS

i still cant understand why they didnt include an R3/L3 and L2/R2 in the vita

This is the guy who said the PS3/360/Wii would be the last generation of consoles... XD

I will get a Vita, but right now its just way too expensive and does not have enough games to justify that price.

So far, it's not so bad without them. I have a few cross buy games and they work quite well without them. Some games work even better with the touch screen than the PS3's triggers (Dragon's Crown for instance), but at the same time PSASBR is better on the PS3 since picking up items is annoying with the touch feature. I am curious on how Destiny will work, but I'm sure Bunjie will do a good job of mapping them properly. Shooters might be tricky without the triggers, but ... we'll see.

I would've agreed with him if he didn't say it, but now that he's said it he's wrong as always. I might pick up a Vita as a controller now. The Vita is far from dead, well not too far, but still. I think Killzone and Tearaway are going to need to be released before we can call it dead. By then, we'll have seen Gamescom and if it doesn't bring anything great, then we can call the Vita dead, but now, it's still got some life in it.

Isn't Sony's Gamescom supposed to be PS4 focused?

Is the same guy who said the Vita will destroy the 3DS?

well it's deader than the PSP was in west, so I agree. And as far as I know it doesn't have a FF7 sequel, GTA Sequel when people were crazy for GTA anywhere. Nor does it have MH for Japan or the loads of gamesmakers that were trying to make their non-portable style game work on a portable. Ofcourse, it needs just 1 game that makes people batshit crazy for it and it's saved (like pokemon). In japan it will be okay.

It needs a big IP, Not just quality, which I think it has  a decent amount.

I kinda agree with him. But since he said it, Vita is saved, man.
