Forums - Sony - Pachter: Vita is Dead, PS4 Remote Play Won’t Save it....(What An Idiot)

So Patcher Just Said

Vita Saved 74 15.26%

He's An Idiot 157 32.37%

The truth (trolololo) 205 42.27%

He's Sexy and He Knows It 49 10.10%

Hmm, I hate to say it, but I think he's right. The system is almost 2years old now and I still see no games that could help the system except for maybe Killzone, and once this game is out it will need more...

After two years, If we can't say that it's dead, we can atleast say that it will have a really painfull and sad life. I don't see ppl buying a 400$ ps4 with a game = around 500$ with taxes rush into spending an other 300$ on a device just because it's screen is a alternative to their giant TV for some game and that it can be used as an alternative to a 60$ controller.

Is the same guy who said the Vita will destroy the 3DS?

I didn't hear about that, but I wouldn't be surprised. He tosses out silly predictions like that all the time. The least he could do is wait for a price drop on it. He'll look foolish if it starts to sell like hotcakes at $199.

I think the Vita will do fine in the long run, especially in Japan the Vita has the potential for huge numbers. It's already selling 10-20k a week on a pretty week line up. It's in the west that it's going to have an up-hill battle.

what ever his name is... he's a genius trolololo. i hope vita get's something. i been playing liberty city stories for too long on mine. Liberation and mortal kombat are the only amazing games i played and won't resell. Golden abyss had too many useless touch events.. and the shooting was tame. killzone blah to me, the color palate is just red and black.. it reminds me of virtual boy kinda!!! Sony better support this thing.. so far i'm having remorse.

So he basically thinks every system is going under? Each month he says a new system is going to be bad it seems.

aye, if you doom everything that exists you're going to get a few right.... I don't know why anyone ever gives this guy any attention or who the hell pays him to look at sales of something and say they're bad, does it really take someone reading the last 8 months of sales figures for you to say they're not great. I will give pachter one thing... he manages to get paid for absolute shit work.

I actually agree with him on this. My mind is blown!!!!!!

I was starting to think the Vita might be pick up steam eventually, but now that Michael Pachter said it wouldn't - I'm 100 percent sure that it will.

Vita is very unlikely to get to PSP sales but it is far from doomed. It has found a nice little niche and is actually making Sony money. That's why they really don't seem like they are trying to save it. Of course it is far far far from expectations, but it isn't being killed off any time soon.

The price cut to $199 for both models at Gamescom, killzone, tearaway, and PS4 remote play should give it a great holiday though. I'd predict 9 million at years end.

It needs a $100 price cut or that $500 PS4+Vita combo to be a reality, along with a steady stream of games. Otherwise yeah, it is kinda dead. More then half of It's sales are coming from Japan. It's not doing anything elsewhere.

It's just that simple.

If the rumors of the ps4 and vita bundle are true than I'd imagine it will do quite well. Plus remote play... come on how awesome does that sound.
