When a Video Game System hits 6 million in Global Hardware Sells, things change drastically for either better or worse.

And it always comes down to what is currently available, plus what's coming out in the next 3 to 6 months.

Sorry if you don't get any of this. But I'm letting you know how this industry seriously works like, 100% of the time for the past many years

So if this is how it works 100% of the time, can you give me 10 examples where things changed drastically for a video game system upon hitting 6 million?

The PS3 needed certain key titles and features and price point to sell, and same goes for 360.

The PS3 sold nearly 8 million in it's first full year on the market, the WiiU barely sold 3m. You can't compare the two.

the 3DS & PS Vita sells show it.

Again, the 3DS was never doing as poorly as the WiiU, you can't compare them. The Vita makes no sense in this context.

The PSP sells show it.

See arguments for PS3 and 3DS.

 The DS sells show it.

The DS became huge when the DS Lite came out, it had nothing to do with the pricepoint.

The Wii U has more better weekly sells in 2014 then 2013 being in the watery territory of 5.X million.

I assume you're saying the WiiU will sell roughly 5m in 2014, which is a decent prediction, but those numbers are still terrible.

I predict when 8th Gen Home Consoles get there, they will show it as well.

Get where? Show what?

The Wii was selling on futuristic aspects.

What?

So 6 to 9 reasons is all I got on the top of my head.

You didn't list a single decent reason for the WiiU to sell 120m or the 3DS to sell 200m.

(so excluding the Wii, I got my proof, and it diffintely proves so when it comes to Sony & Microsoft)

The only thing you proved is that you have no idea what you're talking about.

I guess Nintendo Home Consoles are the only wild card. But I predict that it has ended with the Wii.

I was talking about the 6 million global hardware sells mark factor, and how consumers take complete control on whether or not a system sells, and by how much and base upon what they deem worthy, and etc.

This is a copy cat of MS's "firs to 10 million wins". Nonese. Pure and utter nonsense.

Where do u keep coming up with this 6 million theory? U keep saying Iit but not explaining it

Well, Nintendo talked about the 6 million hardware units sold, and said once a system reaches there' word of mouth will do everything else from there, for better or worse, depending on if it's worthy of being owned by the people, and that the 3DS will start selling great once it gets to 6 million without Nintendo having to do any marketing nor advertising nor anything for that matter.

So Satoru Iwata, is the one you would have to ask about this. (I read it back in 2011, when the 3DS wasn't even at 5 million)

I keep telling you people that the PS4 will hit 6 million first, follow by the Wii U. I don't know when the Xbox ONE will get there, but no time soon, I would assume.

And that has no bearing on anything. I don't know what to tell you, don't be so easily led believing this rubbish.

Who cares if Iwata said it. It's PR bullshit. Didn't Microsoft say they were going to sell 1 billion XBOs? Are you going to believe that too?

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

'I anticipate that it will get to fifty bajillion sells because of the future and didn't Iwata say?'

It's going to blow Kaizar's mind when the Xbox One passes Wii U LTD in a few months.

You know... in sells.

I guess Nintendo Home Consoles are the only wild card. But I predict that it has ended with the Wii.

The PS3 had already basically improved its poor sales from early to mid 2007 by the time it hit 6 million, and it didn't improve significantly until late 2009 when it was over 23 million.

The 3DS turned around when it got a price cut which was before it hit 6 million, the Vita hitting 6 million seems to have done little.  It was doing bad before and it's doing bad now.

The PSP started out fairly well and continued doing fairly well for most of its life.  Not sure what change at 6 million this was supposed to show.

The DS hit 6 million in July 2005, and didn't start doing huge numbers until 2006.  Again, there seems to have been no significance to 6 million.

The first week of 2014 is down YoY for the Wii U, not sure what you are talking about.  Week 2 looks like it might be down as well based on Japanese numbers.  Apparently that "watery territory" isn't doing much.

The Wii was selling out before hit hit 6 million and kept doing it till it was over 40 million.  Once again, nothing special about hitting 6 million.

You seem to have no proof whatsoever.  I really have no clue how you get these ideas into your head.  6 million is some magic number, the 3DS only gets games because of 3D, the only games PS3/360 have are RE6 and FF13, etc etc.

The Tale of the Benevolent Dad of Nintendo & The Very Naughty Children of Third-Parties
Part III - The Dad's Secret Weapon - The Soothsayer Fan Neighbor

The Third Party children were hunkering down with their new Middleware Pooch, happily cranking out game after game and bringing them to market, while good Daddy Nintendo stuck to his guns and produced quality craftsmanship, creating works so wondrous and perfect that nobody understood or really enjoyed them (NintendoLand, Wonderful 101). Just then, he overheard a ruckus outside. Going to his big fatherly window, he espied some of the neighbor kids standing on their lawn, calling out for all the world to hear.

"There are those who say the benevolent Father who lives in this house," here the children pointed at Big Daddy NinNin's home, "has lost his way. That he no longer produces pleasantry for the people! If you'll stop and listen to me for forty five minutes rambling on in a novella length screed I've pulled from my sainted ass, I will SHOW you that Ol' Pappy Nintendo is really none other than FATHER NINTENDOMINATION!"

Big Pop Nintendo-man laughed, gripping his fat belly as it jiggled and wriggled. Young lads like this neighbor folk were exactly how Nintendo knew his masterfully laid-out plan to destroy all other companies - all while looking like he was selling less than his competitors by far - would truly come to fruition. With the young neighbor proselytizing to those who had lost the faith, Dear Father Nintendo knew his herd of sheep-like third-party children would soon come back into the fold. So he could murder them and put them out of business forever.

The young neighbor children didn't always sound too clear on that: was Daddy Nintendo going to take back his flock of departing, wayward third-party children or slaughter them like helpless goslings? Nintendo, sitting back down at his workstation, decided it didn't really matter so much. No specific fact really mattered. All that mattered was his SUPER SECRET PLAN, which is already starting to work.

"I'll lure those third-parties and other consoles into a false sense of complacency, by hemorrhaging money," he chuckled, putting the finishing touches on a game by carefully slicing off anything resembling achievements, "then I'll produce a one-two punch that is sure to stop them in their tracks: I'll have the worst second-holiday console sales in Nintendo history and THEN have my shares shed a fifth of their value in a few hours when I cut my FY 2013 consoles sales forecasts down to less than a THIRD of what I've maintained for an entire year!"

Father Daddy Nintendo laughed and laughed, to the point where spittle flecked his old white beard. To the point where he began to scare himself. To a point where he could not stop.

"Oh yes," he said, through the laughter that was echoing off the walls of his empty house, "they won't know what hit them, will they? My plan..." he guffawed, "is already working!"

He glanced at the pale reflection of his haggard face in the window as the neighbor child, across the lawn, cried "Nintendo will sell 240 million consoles IN TWO DAYS!"

"Yes," said Daddy Nintendo, still laughing, tears streaming down his cheeks, "already working."
