I used bricks at the beginning, but then switched to bottles when I noticed they make more noise
when they break
Its perfect for getting enemies close for a stealth takedown or for sneaking undetected.

LOL, great thread. Bottles for distractions so I don't have to waste my brick, which I use to bash in the skulls of clickers.

Rarely used 'em at all. Stealth choked the shit out of everyone and everything!


On a serious note, when I started to need more strategy, I used the bottles instead of bricks because they make more noise. I think they do at least.

After missing the first two shiv doors. I put all my focus on creating shivs and using them only for doors, never to kill clickers. I never even upgraded my automatic shiv kill against clickers because I love loot so much.

My favorite and most created/used item was the molotov cocktail.

If you stealth killed everything and never used shivs on Clickers, how did you kill Clickers? Did you just avoid them altogether?

I'm crazy about my loot too. I went in knowing resources would be scarce, so I barely use anything and I'm super careful with each approach. It's an awesome feeling making it through an encounter having not used many resources if any at all.

The bow and arrow. If I couldn't sneak my way around clickers, I'd head shot them with my bow and arrow. This is extremely useful because it doesn't alert nearby infected, AND you can retrieve the used arrow most of the time if it was a clean hit.

I have usually Brick in equipment, it's good to throw at a clicker and then, when it's stunned, one strong blow with a wooden stick is enough to smash it's head :D

Bow is definitely a good way to kill clickers, although I prefer to stealth past as much infected as I can. I actually prefer to shoot the patrolling runners with the bow, because those guys are often difficult to sneak up on.

I love that method.  I started doing that the other night after my first encounter after getting the bow.  I'm always so pissed when an arrow breaks because I'm such a loot hoarder
